How often do you clean your home and what do you do?

Random question but I'm curious to know. I am quite lazy but my downstairs is usually ok upstairs however is a different story. My bathroom doesn't get cleaned as often as it should and most times I'd be embarrassed if someone asked to use my upstairs bathroom.

What is your cleaning routine and what bits do you never neglect ? How often do you do some sort of cleaning?

FFS this thread is so depressing.

Can you imagine a man posting this stuff?!!!

Unfortunately too many women assume that it’s their responsibility - and also have lazy partners.

Everyday:
-Make beds
-tidy bedrooms
-laundry dried and put away on same day
-bathrooms cleaned (loos, basins, shower sprayed and rinsed down, chrome shined)
-dust everywhere, hoover last
-kitchen cleaned, dishes washed and put away as we go(no dishwasher, I don't like dishes on the draining board)
-floors mopped
-easy access skirting boards and trim get dusted and cleaned

1-2 times a week
-Bedding changed
-Bathrooms deep cleaned- tiles and grout scrubbed etc
-mirrors and windows indoors
-front door and doorstep washed down
-skirting boards behind furniture

1-2 times a fortnight
-clean the fridge

5 kids, toys and fun everywhere but not dirt.

I'd rather have a clean house to bake a cake in, or write a letter in!

Edited to add: My husband isn't lazy, but he doesn't have to clean! I feel it is my responsibility to keep our home clean and tidy and it doesn't mean I'm opressed 🙄

I work full time as does dh, we have 3 busy young teens, 1 dog and a house that in reality is too big.

We don't have a cleaner despite having 4 bathrooms

Daily
Load of washing put through washing machine and tumble dryer then put away.
Wipe surfaces, empty/reload dishwasher etc
Brush floors
Empty bins as needed
Keep living areas clutter free/cushions back tidily on sofa etc.

Weekly
Bathrooms
Mop all floors downstairs

Fortnightly
Change all bedding

Dh is really good at housework he is generally the one that does the daily chores and I tend to do the weekly + early on a Saturday morning while he goes off on his hobby. Our house in generally neat and ordered but it should be cleaned more but we haven't got the time or energy.

About once a year I have a massive decluttering where I throw all non needed possessions away. I think this is key. Our house doesn't have much "stuff" in cupboards and everything has a home

Live alone, don't really have a routine
On a Sunday I change the bedding and like to hoover, clean the kitchen and bathrooms but if I miss it, it's not a big deal

I tend to just set a timer of 30 mins a day on whatever looks like it needs doing
Also a night owl so it's not unusual for me at 11pm to suddenly decide the whole bathroom needs deep cleaning BlushGrin

We work full time and have a child. I try to blitz the house on a Friday evening or Saturday morning, but have come to accept that by Thursday it will all be looking a bit ropey. I used to stress about it but over the years I’ve lowered my expectations as I needed to prioritise some exercise and couldn’t have it all.

To be fair, I think we keep on top of it fairly well and will have a quick tidy up, do the dishwasher, wipe down surfaces, etc every day. I do the bulk of it but that’s because DH does all the cooking. We’ve gone with our strengths!

Our home is ok, but never pristine. It's a compromise between having a nice home I feel comfortable in and having time for other things. We both work full time, have a teen daughter.

My most recent present to myself was a robovac, which can clean while we are at work. I still need to vacuum, but much, much less often. The best thing about it is that it vacuums under my daughter's bed.

I clean bathrooms once a week, do about four loads of laundry a week and put them away the following day. We clean surfaces when we see they need it.
There are never dirty dishes in the sink, as they get stacked in the dishwasher or washed by hand after every meal.
