Hope everybody's had a good Christmas and eaten some delicious food, but what's the best thing you have eaten?

My roast potatoes on Christmas day were absolutely perfect, I'm still dreaming of them now! 😆

Tzatziki and some ultra hot Max walkers (I think?) that were on sale in the co-op at 51p.

Loved the combo!

My old-fashioned trifle.

Frozen raspberries in jelly, sherry-soaked sponge spread with homemade jam, a tin of Ambrosia custard, double cream with clementine zest and a punnet of fresh raspberries on top. 😋

The Christmas sandwich!

I did roasted sprouts with garlic, lemon and breadcrumbs on Christmas Day - they were lovely. So was my red cabbage <preens>

I made a lovely smokey veggie chili - it doesn't sound much but it was such comforting dish.

Unfortunately, I forgot to put it in the fridge overnight and had to bin it this morning 😕

You’d be alright with a veggie chilli left out, I reckon.

An Almond Croissant shared over the phone with GD. She is 8 and got an IPad for Christmas . Since Christmas morning she has text me every day to wish me good morning. This morning she told me she had a croissant. This tempted me to go and get one too. Then we chatted over hot chocolate and croissants. This has opened up a great new chapter in my life as I previously only saw her in school holidays and some odd weekends.

How lovely Smile

M&S harissa butter prawns, absolutely amazing!

I’m about to make chips in beef dripping with the leftover potatoes, and I’m going to load them with ham and the last of the Roquefort. I’ve made a slaw to go on the side with the leftover cabbage, carrot and red onion all still uncooked in fridge and some natural yoghurt. I’ve got high hopes!

Some delicious Stilton from the deli.

What an inspired thread - the foodie ones are a special kind of comforting. 🤗

For me, DH's homemade mince pies & our vegetarian daughter made us a delicious mushroom & spinach risotto last night.

Thanks for sharing the roast potato love! ❤️

Homemade Beef Madras

Random, but a Lidl dessert in the shape of a steam train. A chocolate brownie base with layers of chocolate mousse and caramel in a thick chocolate shell. It was gorgeous.

Steak tartare . I’d eat that and tuna tartare for every meal given the chance.

frankie001 · 31/12/2024 13:12

My housemate was too ill to have a Christmas dinner, and I was away so couldn’t fed her. Tonight I’m doing a cheat version with frozen stuff from Lidl.

3 bird roast with chestnut and cranberry stuffing
sprout gratin
honey parsnips
duchess potatoes and some boiled veg
bread sauce and gravy

should be an easy dinner, and am hoping for left overs for work for the next two days.
