Anyone else struck down with a horrible winter virus/flu thing?

There was a thread on this somewhere but I can't find it now. I've lost track of how many days I've been feeling shit, but it started before Christmas and no signs of improvement. Achy, weak, throbbing sinuses, fever over 38. I survived hosting a family Christmas on ibuprofen and coffee but I just want to feel better now!! Tell me how you're doing and we can moan and groan together... 🫂

So today is day 11 with a chronic cold - sneezing, running nose still literally dripping, thick head.
However I do feel I have turned a corner.

I began to lose my sense of smell - but not like covid where I literally got in the shower able to smell things and by the time I had got out I couldn't smell anything at all, even stood over frying onions, despite my nose being clear. This was like, my nose was so inflamed inside and so peppery feeling that I could get about a 1 percent smell. I remembered I had this years ago and it went on for about 3 or 4 weeks and in the end the doctor said it looked the same as allergic rhinitis and prescribed a nasal spray. So I bought some beconaze and used it yesterday and it does feel a whole lot better now. It has definitely calmed the constant runny nose down.

I do wonder whether it's possible that in my case occasionally with a nasty cold the cold virus irritates the lining of my nose to an extent where my immune system just over reacts and triggers a sort of allergic rhinitis that keeps going and going.

How is everyone? Was finally starting to feel better but now have a cold!

I ended up buying some beconase and it sorted the dripping nose within 24 hours. I feel like it was perpetuating itself because it was all so inflamed.

Then dealt with a couple of weeks of sinus issues but the last few days I feel like it's finally gone.
