What leftover Christmas food and drinks do you have?

Adult children have departed and I am appraising the food and drink flotsam from Christmas.
As always I overestimated the amount of soft drinks so have various bottles of sorts. Will go in the cupboard for later use.
Other than that, have half a bottle of baileys, various crisps and nuts, two boxes of chocolates, loads of fudge, a load of croissants in the freezer, half a block of stilton and some turkey left.
Will eat through the fresh leftovers in the next couple of days, and excess chocolate will be taken in to work I think.

Two chicken legs, some sausages and litres of alcohol. (People buy it for us and we don’t really drink it so it stocks up.)

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/12/2024 13:26

Lots of ham and turkey, mountain of chocolate and cheese, and a ton of booze that has been bought for us which isn’t quite to our taste.

pizzaHeart · 27/12/2024 13:28

We have 3 x 200 g cheeses, 3 mince pies, small tube of double cream, grapes, melon and bottle of red wine. We skipped cheeseboard on Christmas Day.
All other food is planned for today and rest of the week.

Dips, cheese, mince pies, Yule log, pouring cream, Christmas pudding and trifle. DP will hoover it up though!

Falafelolive · 27/12/2024 13:31

Oh and a full Christmas pudding and unopened tub of brandy cream, we just didn't feel like eating it. Not sure what I'll do with that, maybe give it away in my local FB group if anyone wants it

Turkey carcass which will be soup tomorrow
Beef which will be curry tonight
A few bits of cheese (a whole camembert, some goats cheese, half a piece of Wensleydale)
One person's worth of trifle
Lots of chocolates.

Falafelolive · 27/12/2024 13:33

Flipping heck and a full baking camembert hiding at the back of the fridge that I'd forgotten about. Might do that at new though

I used the last of the turkey today (small lunch and froze some for curries)

fridge - I went grocery shopping this morning for salmon and fresh fruit, milk and bread

we’ve crisps, biscuits, haven’t touched the Christmas cake yet, some procecco and mulled wine, crackers chutney and cheese but have friends over today so will use up stuff

Peridot1 · 27/12/2024 13:38

Some turkey and ham. Making a pie tonight with most of that.

All of the cheese. And pate and crackers. Cream. Mince pies. Christmas cake. Biscuits. Chocolates of various types. Lots of booze. Frozen croissants and pain au chocolates. Oh and sausage rolls in the freezer.

But have family coming to stay for four days over new year so a lot will go then.

MumChp · 27/12/2024 13:39

Quite a few cookies. That's nice. We will eat them the next weeks - baked loads from my home region. Oranges, lots of tangerines and a some chocolate.
Soft drink but fine for New Year.

Laserwho · 27/12/2024 13:45

Christmas isn't over untill my boys go back to school / college in just over a week. All the chocolate, Yule logs, mince pies and fizzy pop will be eaten next week.

OdeToBarney · 27/12/2024 13:45

Leftover turkey and gammon went in the freezer earlier, along with carrots and Swede. DD and I ate mince pies for breakfast and there's 1 mini yule log left she'll have tomorrow. DH and I will finish the cheesecake and cream later. Still got 3/4 of a panettone too.

We haven't even touched the cheese or pate yet. Plus we've got twiglets, cheeselets and nuts untouched in the cupboard. Way too much really but we'll just eat the cupboard stuff over the coming weeks in normal size portions!

AHFBridport · 27/12/2024 13:46

One mince pie, box of biscuits, stollen, lots of chocolates, mince pie liqueur, millionaire's fake baileys, 2 bottles vodka, 1 bottle tequila, 3 bottles fizz, 1 bottle rose.

andpeggy1 · 27/12/2024 13:58

Nothing, MIL threw away all left overs on Christmas Day night claiming "these are no good now".

I was putting the baby to bed, when I returned for a post bedtime pig in blanket everything in the kitchen had been cleared

I was on the verge of toddler tears 🙈

Roystonv · 27/12/2024 14:06

Quite a bit; we don't open things before the 25th and then for about 4 days after we have leftovers and treats for supper. The best thing about using up is the no prep or cooking as it is now just dh and me suiting ourselves. So beef, turkey, cheeses, pork pie, crisps, stollen, chocs, cake. Cannot believe the horror of someone binning all the best bits; what a shame.

mondaytosunday · 27/12/2024 14:15

I have enough turkey (or did considering done was eaten yesterday) for one (singular) meal. Enough veg and trimmings as well, though I think we are out of cranberry sauce now. I judged it well - enough for everyone to make sandwiches the next day not so much that people are sick of it.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 27/12/2024 14:18

We didn't host on the day so nothing from Christmas dinner.

We have two boxes of mince pies. Some Christmas pudding brought back from Christmas lunch.

Some party food left over from Boxing Day.

Two boxes of biscuits.

Various nibbles from a hamper which I'll take to work as most of them are likely to destroy my teeth!

The remains of a packet of Heroes.

A packet of Thai chilli Sensations.

Oh and a tin of "Pepparkakor" biscuits (Swedish ginger thins) I'd totally forgotten about.

@andpeggy1 leftovers are the best bit, really sorry that happened. Was she just thoughtless or was it malicious? What did your dh say?

Sgtmajormummy · 27/12/2024 14:37

Two servings of mash.
3 of pea and ham soup which was originally gammon.
A Pandoro
and…
a metric tonne of nuts, dates, figs and prunes.

BulldogMumma · 27/12/2024 14:42

We have left over beef from yesterday, dips, crisps, tubs of chocolates, a bottle of gin, a bottle of amaretto, a bottle of whisky, some beers, various cheeses and a Christmas cake. Think that's everything 😂

BulldogMumma · 27/12/2024 14:43

Oh and a panettone and 2 boxes of mince pies

biscuitsandbooks · 27/12/2024 14:43

Chicken, cheese and alcohol.

BulldogMumma · 27/12/2024 14:44

A bottle of martini, 3 bottles of lemonade and 2 bottles of coke 🤦‍♀️

fromthevault · 27/12/2024 14:53

Oh god, we've got tonnes left over. It's a bit ridiculous really; I didn't plan well this year and panic-bought somewhat. Plus DH's family sent us hampers as we weren't seeing them this year and DH is a teacher so got lots of chocolate etc from his pupils. So, 3 unopened boxes of biscuits, several unopened boxes of chocolates, Pringles coming out of my ears, nuts, cheese and several boxes of various crackers. Dips (including the amazing M&S green goddess dip), a full box of dates, pretzels, a whole Xmas pudding, half a Christmas cake, a bag and a half of lebkuchen. And endless amounts of booze - we all like a drink but there's a LOT leftover.

I think I need to rein it in next year. It won't go to waste but the amount of overconsumption is rather sobering (no pun intended).

JBJ · 27/12/2024 14:54

Nothing. We were at a family member's house on Christmas Day so just have normal food in the house. Well, there's some cheese and crackers, but we often have those anyway.
