My DD9 woke at 3am she was (politely) told to go back to sleep 😂 at 3.30am it became clear no chance so gave her her tablet until DS4 woke at 5.30am and we came downstairs to see if Santa had been

DS 8 woke at 5.30am. I tried to get him to go back to bed until 6am. He then woke DD 10years at 6am. They opened their stocking and presents. Then adults went back to bed for a sleep until 9.30am. My DS is still awake now watching Minions.

DD8 woke up at 1.30. I told her to go back to sleep. She then woke up again at 4.30. DH brought her into our bed (she was sleeping on a floor bed as we were at my in-laws). By 5.30 he decided to take her downstairs to watch tv to stop her waking anyone else up. He then set off the burglar alarm and woke the whole house up. Also realised she’d had a nose bleed in the night and her sheets, our sheets and her face were covered in blood. Not an ideal start but the day improved after that!

My son (4) was still asleep when we went into his room at 8am 😂 He nearly asked for 'ten more minutes' before we reminded him it was Christmas day!

3:30am 😢

both younger ones are autistic and rubbish sleepers though so it’s nothing out of the ordinary

I feel your pain, my DC are also both autistic and on melatonin which helps knock them out but doesn't keep them asleep! DS is a rubbish sleeper but I'm hoping like DD (usually, today was an exception!) He will get better as he gets older. Both now thankfully fast asleep and I'm heading up myself, the dishes can wait until the morning lol merry Christmas everyone 😊

I got a tea at 8am, turned all the Christmas lights on and took it back to bed to read. Got twitchy about 8:50 and started wandering around being noisy, until the teen sloths started to rouse about 9am 😂

Six year old woke up just after 8:30. (Went to bed about 10ish)

That's about normal time for him. Wake up time, I mean - not bed time. Bed time is 8pm on school nights. 9-10 at weekends and holidays.

I usually have to drag him out of bed at 7:30 on school days! He's always been a good sleeper.

Dd12 woke up at 5.45, kept herself occupied until we got up at 7.30, I love how now they are older they will keep occupied. First time since my sister was born (2004) I’ve been allowed to sleep past 7.

Pyjamatimenow · 25/12/2024 23:26

Oddly we got to 7:30. Dd 4 normally is up at 5 so it was a lovely Christmas gift to me and dh for her to sleep in. Think it’s actually made a big difference to the day. It’s been very pleasant!
