I've never watched ballet before, I always assumed I wouldn't understand it

But Swan Lake on BBC2 right now is really enjoyable. I'm pleasantly surprised! Even my young sons have put the consoles down and are watching with me. Can I call us middle class now? 😆

Yes the coastlines and the scene where they use the travelator to move across the stage is just stunning

I love ballet too - don’t understand it or ever danced myself. The male version of Swan Lake is beautiful but I’ve seen many others.

I sometimes watch and just appreciate the spectacle - the grace and power of the dancers.

I was going to say - that's taking scenery and staging to a whole new level 😆

My favourite is Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake but I did catch 20 minutes of the version on TV yesterday and it was quite absorbing and lovely!

I always used to try to watch any ballet/opera over Christmas but this year I don't have a tv. I think I should get some on DVD soon.

Just found Matthew Bournes Sleeping Beauty on iplayer. It is gorgeous.
