This! My mind never ceases to boggle at the amount of people (largely women) on here incapable of saying no to stuff they don’t want to do, especially at Christmas.
I’ll go one further on the vegetarian opinions - if you eat meat, you should be willing to eat any animal including human. You’ve no business finding dog meat gross or thinking it’s barbaric to hunt seals if you happily tuck into bacon and burgers. (I’m veggie but if the chance arose to try a little chunk of human I probably would 😂)
Weddings are a colossal waste of money and a con by consumerist culture, wedding dresses are universally gross and silly and a wedding is not the most important day of anyone’s life. Just because something’s “traditional” doesn’t mean it’s good - in fact it’s likely to be the opposite. It’s also fine to go to weddings empty handed.
Men should NOT pay on the first date and I’d get the massive ick from anyone who tried. I don’t need or want to be paid for and would see it as an indicator of other problematic views about women.
The ideal hetero relationship model is one where both people share all duties equally, especially if they’re parents - so both work part time and do equal amounts of parenting. Whether women work should never be a question or an option - the thing to ask is why men don’t parent enough.
Communism is a good idea on paper but it’s never been executed well. The closest successful model is probably Singapore and I think a benign dictatorship that limits personal wealth creation and redistributes it through society is a good thing. Inheritance is unethical.
