Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, before I crack on with my small to-do list. The kittens are curled up under the table, after their breakfast, and the girls are still sleeping, so it's nice and quiet down here 😊

Since they're all peaceful, the first thing I'll do is finish wrapping for the girls & stash those bits, then get dressed & tackle the rest!

Dd1's best friend is calling at some point to collect her gift & visit for an hour, and I'm expecting my dad at some point although haven't heard from him yet this morning. Dd1's leaving with her friend to go and buy a birthday present for dd2 I think.

Hopefully later there'll be plenty of time to chill with my crochet, before we decide what's for tea - not a clue even though the freezer's full!

Early ish nights all round tonight ready for walking into town in the morning to visit the greengrocer and cheese monger 😋 .

Another day of waking up too early and sneaking downstairs to lay on the sofa. Exhausted already.

DH and I have a mountain of baking to do today, I need to go and ride the demented pony this afternoon before collecting DD from her dads later.

Lamb curry for tea, and hopefully an early night. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve jumping at the yard and need to collect the turkey before that.

Then I need to start organising myself for 2 very big new arrivals a few days after Christmas, very very excited! 🐆

Work. Having a quick cuppa and back to it.

I am about to put up the Christmas tree! We recently got a new fridge and the company that delivered (AO) refused to take our old American fridge as they had no room in their van. They rebooked the removal three more times and each time the same story. The old fridge has been stuck in our sitting room for two weeks waiting to go. Finally dh and son rented a van and have just done it themselves. So I am sitting here enjoying the empty space for a moment.

Coffee break here too. Up early, fed the kids and am blasting the house so I can put my feet up tomorrow. Bathrooms and top floor done. Tackling the kids bedrooms next. Wish me luck!

Morning! I've just had a coffee and now my DH has taken the kids for haircuts and to do my Christmas shopping, which is good because I get a few hours peace and quiet to wrap the rest of their presents and tidy up 🤣

I’ve been sleeping badly for a while and now have a cold coming on, but still didn’t get to sleep until 4am! I’m very groggy on the sofa with DS watching tv and finally mustered the energy to get myself a coffee.

I’m appreciating not being at work and have a quite a few errands to run today, including cheese shopping and a trip to the post office. I also need to get through some laundry and finally start wrapping presents. I’ll squeeze a nap in somewhere too I expect. DS is also keen to do some baking, and this evening DH and I are having a curry for dinner. It’s a shame I’m so sleepy as this is the sort of day before Christmas that I really look forward to, and I fancied cracking open a nice bottle of wine later.

It is DS's birthday so we have just watched him open his presents. Then I am off to brave the supermarket after feeding my Dad's cat.

I will drop the shopping off then go to the hospital to see my DF who will likely be spending Christmas Day in hospital still.

Then back home to start wrapping everything, my planned wrapping time was taken up this week with sitting with DF in A&E waiting for a bed on the ward.

I’ve just phoned and got a Drs appointment at 1pm, another UTI seems to have started overnight.

Walking into town for a few things, nothing exciting, soda stream refills, paying the deposit that a restaurant needs for our NYE lunch table, one of those house numbers for a new wheelie bin, rock and roll 🤣.

Nothing festive actually, I think I’ve finished everything festive 🥇.

I might re-watch De Gaulle tonight. I really enjoyed it but it’s subtitled and I missed paying attention to a couple of bits when I first watched it.

@MsXmasGGMasterTwat you can get UTI antibiotics from pharmacies now save you waiting for the doctor I did it recently. You can only get 3 days worth and I'm not sure if it's nationwide but might be worth looking into?

Thanks @Decafflatteplease , my GP is great, gives me a same day appointment and always sends off a sample.

I have a history of UTIs/see a urologist and am allergic to a couple of the most commonly used drugs for UTIs.

Shall we come and duct tape you to the settee?

I walked the dog earlier, very cold but a beautiful pale pink sunrise, I wish I’d had my phone with me. No one else out so very peaceful.
I have tidied around, thrown out the flowers that had gone I’ve and rearranged another vase, the house is reasonably tidy so little to do today.
Christmas is going to be extremely low-key this year, through choice, and it’s so lovely to be avoiding all the stress and expense.

We watched Elf this morning over breakfast and now setting off for the big Christmas food shop. Paddington at the cinema tomorrow to get everyone out of the house for a bit!

Woke up a little late because myself and ds1 got home very late. Tidied up a little and sorted presents. Now on train to visit the in-laws for a couple of hours and then my nan.

I'm WFH, DD just got up and is meeting a friend for coffee and swapping presents. Later I'm picking my mum up from the next town as she's been giving out presents at a charity event for homeless / vulnerable children.

DD is incharge of cooking dinner tonight and I'll be wrapping.

Pottering around the house whilst looking after DS13 and DD6. DS has autism and has woke up on the wrong side of the bed today so isn't in the greatest mood but hoping we can turn that around soon.
DW is picking up DSS9 from his Dad's who lives a fair distance away so they won't be back here until late afternoon/early evening time.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. How nice to see you today. I had a rotten night's sleep but up at eight as I'm looking after my grandsons this morning. We have made gingerbread stars, Christmas trees and dinosaurs and then they iced them. They ate a couple but I've rationed them! At the moment they're watching rubbish on Disney while I have a seat. I'm warding off a hypo because my diabetic meds changed and it's taking some getting used to. Shortly we'll do some science experiments. Enjoy your day

Morning Everyone. I'm sitting on a train London bound, travelling home. I've been to visit relatives for early Christmas festivities.
Looking forward to getting home, a warm welcome from the pets, a mug of tea and putting on my pj's.

Good morning lucysmam and all! A nice bonus Monday thread, although I will probably spend the whole day thinking it's Saturday…

I am drinking the teapot as usual and contemplating my day.

DH has caught my dreadful cold but is manfully trying to get on with life. He will be out doing a few jobs and going to the butcher today.
I need to run the hoover round and wash some floors; I put my friend who does my cleaning off this week, because of all the viruses, but the downside is the extra tasks…
I have to go and deposit some forms and pick up the paperwork for the New Year's Eve wedding that I am conducting.
I will nip into the supermarket and get a nice cake or something, as I am going to tea with a friend later today.

We've also got a few friends coming round for mince pies and drinks after the Christmas carols on the village green tomorrow, so I need some non alcoholic punch and a few odd things.
This also means I need to put the tree up today (we usually do it Christmas Eve) and refresh some of my Solstice greenery.

If I have the energy after that, I will try to finish the painting upstairs. It's not the end of the world if I don't but when you have colour drenched the whole room dark blue, anything that isn’t really sticks out.

Woke up at 7.30am despite not needing to be up, had toast and lemon curd and a satsuma and fed the birds.

Cleaned the kitchen, dyed my hair and now just sitting on the bed with hair in towel ready to dry.

Off out later to help DD sort some stuff for her house.
Pre-roasting sweet potatoes and parsnips when I get back.

So glad you are doing a thread today as I missed the ones at the weekend and this thread really cheers me up!

Am currently waiting in the vets as my gorgeous 16 year old boy cat is having some blood tests as vet thinks he has thyroid problems and possibly a low grade heart murmur. Vet said he’s a good weight so hoping we have caught any problems in time.

Then this afternoon will be a mad tidy up of the house ready to pick my DM up tomorrow who will be staying with me and DD for a couple of days. I was hoping to enlist DD12’s help with the tidying up but she has got an awful cold so is sitting watching Xmas films and cozied up on the sofa instead!!!

Both DCs at football camp today, DH working so I was off to do the shopping for the last things we need. Picking up our M&S food to order tomorrow and we’re all ready!
Going to put on a Christmas film, make coffee and get all the presents wrapped, DH will join me on his break.
Kids will come home happy and knackered, so we’re taking them to their favourite restaurant for dinner.

Got up, emptied dishwasher, sorted some washing and put another load on.
I was all sorted but DH has suddenly started drinkng loads of milk - which meant we ran out. Waited for ages for my friend who said she'd drop presents off, got in the car and she appeared, so quick handover there. She said the traffic wasn't too bad (ha!).
I wouldn't have taken the car but since I hurt my arm the milk's too heavy for me and nobody else was up.
Tesco car park was manic, including the bit which is usually empty and just has driving school pupils practising!
Eventually found a space but no room to straighten up properly because of all the traffic behind. Mega queue at cashpoint and only 1 out of 2 working - there used to be 4 but they got rid of some in covid, God knows why as they're outside anyway!
Got into the shop and the queues were back for miles, turned and left and drove along the back roads to the One Stop at Hazlerigg - working cash point, got milk and sorted.
Now back and having a coffee and eating my Lindt chocolate bear I bought on my trip to Leeds, which turned out not to be a Christmas present for anyone - except me - after all!
We're visiting relatives at the coast later so their stuff's in the car - but not til 3 so we're planning to go and have fish and chips in our favourite restaurant first - not been there for ages!
