I need some ideas! We’re not big on walks but will definitely be needing to get out of the house.

OP posts:

We are all working in our house. The joys of working in retail and football!

MonopolyQueen · 22/12/2024 17:28

Im working. Dh will chill with the kids and probably tidy up leaves in the garden again!

SpikeGilesSandwich · 22/12/2024 17:28

I'm hoping we can lay some flooring but in reality, we'll probably just chill and mess about with games and presents. Some fresh air would be nice.

CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan · 22/12/2024 17:32

I'm basically hanging on till Boxing Day to get some rest - I have meals to shop for and cook, work to do, church services to go to and guests to host for the next three days and I'm already exhausted. Boxing day is the first chance I get for a lie-in!

Tara336 · 22/12/2024 17:32

Travelling home from family Christmas and DH will be off to football s soon as we get back so I will have some quiet time watching TV and eating chocolates

OMGitsnotgood · 22/12/2024 17:33

It's the first year in a long while we have no Boxing Day plans. Adult DCs are with us Christmas Day and with in-laws Boxing Day. Friends we have spent the day with in the past have moved away and other friends we've also sometimes seen are away visiting family. This thread has reminded me we have no Boxing Day plans! If the weather is ok we will go for a walk, I know it's not your thing OP.
Might check whether our favourite curry house is open. And maybe the gym to go for a swim first

DumpedByText · 22/12/2024 17:34

Drinking nice wine and eating loads of cheese!

CocoapuffPuff · 22/12/2024 17:35

We've both been ill with flu for a fortnight and are still coughing, so im hoping that boxing day is dry and still so I can head out for a gentle seaside walk. I'm hoping to have a video chat with cousins in Australia too.

mrsclaus44 · 22/12/2024 17:36

Eldest dc will be goi g to his dads around lunchtime so we will try and have a nice walk in the morning then chill with the youngest in the afternoons, films, nibbles and a turkey pie for tea!

mindutopia · 22/12/2024 17:40

Just relaxing, I’ll have a nap (I have cancer so have a daily nap), film, eating, we will go for a walk, possibly to the beach.

anonny55 · 22/12/2024 17:42

Bit of cleaning up in the morning
Visit in laws for a few hours for dinner
Come home and slob on the sofa with all the snacks!

LoafofSellotape · 22/12/2024 17:43

Gammon and mashed potato, lots of telly and a nice walk .

TheCanaryInThePurpleSkirt · 22/12/2024 17:47

Coming home for some peace and quiet and a rest! Am spending Christmas with family and it’ll be lovely but full on!

I shall go for a nice walk with my lovely golden retriever 😊

ShanghaiDiva · 22/12/2024 17:48

Walk along the beach if not wet. Spent last Boxing Day with dd in A&E followed by admission so anything is an improvement!

EveryOtherNameTaken · 22/12/2024 17:49

Maybe a walk
After walk into pjs
Cold meats, cheese, party food
Christmas jigsaw
Films
Maybe a few drinks

TwinkleLights24 · 22/12/2024 17:50

I’ll probably be relieved it’s over this year which is sad.

SiobhanSharpe · 22/12/2024 17:51

Packing, tidying and getting ready to drive to the port to catch an evening ferry to Spain, where we'll be staying for the next month or so.

SellFridges · 22/12/2024 17:54

We’re travelling to my home city for the football, then will see family on the 27th. We’re staying in a hotel Boxing night and are all looking forward to playing Uno in the bar after the match.

We’ve switched things around the last few years so we don’t do the same things with the same people on repeat for those couple of days. I’m very happy to see in the in laws multiple times over Christmas but two days on the trot is too much for all of us.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 22/12/2024 17:54

I'm in a city but 5 mins walk from a small nature reserve, so will probably have a walk there if not raining. Did a 5k loop last year on my own and it was so lovely to be out of the house, plus passed a few people I know and stopped to exchange Christmas greetings and chat.

Boxing day food is always bubble and squeak with cold meats and a cheeseboard. Plus trifle for pud. There will probably be a jigsaw puzzle on the go and reading the books we got for Christmas.

Nellieinthebarn · 22/12/2024 17:55

Probably eating.

SummerBarbecues · 22/12/2024 18:01

We go ice skating for the first session in the pop up ice rink in the city Center. Then we look around the Christmas market and do the Christmas trail. I much prefer to visit the market on Boxing Day when it’s a bit quieter.

Rowansiskin · 22/12/2024 18:13

DH has finally worked his last ever Christmas so we actually have from Christmas Day until New Year together as a family. I’ve been ill so we’ll see how it goes on the day but hopefully a walk by the sea, cold meats, cheeses and a dessert from the selection we have, and looking back over our presents. Probably Lego and reading new books. Maybe Jay Flynn’s online quiz in the evening over video call with friends.

stopringingme · 22/12/2024 18:15

My husband is working, DD, and I will have a relaxing day.

biscuitsandbooks · 22/12/2024 18:16

Taking the dog for a walk, eating leftovers and watching Christmas films - maybe playing some board games and working our way through all the food I got given from my clients.

kareyom · 22/12/2024 18:18

We have tickets to Disney on Ice, we'll have lunch out before and do some shopping nearby afterwards.
