According to TMZ Blake Lively is suing Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment on the set of ‘It Ends With Us’.

According to the lawsuit, a meeting was held in regards to the hostile work environment. Blake demanded that Baldoni stop showing nude videos or images of women to her, no more mention of Baldoni's alleged previous "pornography addiction," no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mentions of cast and crew's genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake's weight, and no further mention of Blake's dead father and no more adding of sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing by Blake outside of the script Blake approved when signing onto the project.

Baldoni’s representative have denied the allegations and state this is an effort for Blake to rehabilitate her recent poor image.

Not supporting someone in case where you believe they've been sexually harassed because you don't like them is odd. That poster later clarified that she wouldn't be looking for updates. Not supporting and not seeking updates is not the same thing.

Maybe YOU shouldn't post on MN?

Think it’s to crack open the mince pies and take a break @Moonfasa100

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/12/2024 16:52

They can disagree without calling someone names and swearing at them.

Swearing is part of the MN culture and 'bloody' was I think the word in question. 'Bloody' is very tame on here.

And you were the one recruiting to be unkind to noble. Play the ball. You want to be able to call her 'extreme' and gang up, but you don't want the equivalent from her.

And you are an apologist. There's no appetite among women any more to #BeKind and understanding around sexual harassment. All the 'waiting for proof' and relying on Courts has left us with a system where some industries are lousy with predators and the rape conviction rate is so low it's basically legal. That way doesn't work for women. There needs to be a change. And anger has a long history of bringing that about. To misquote Chimamanda Ngozi.

She’s an embarrassment- trying to save face as fans really went against her

Nice.

Whatever.

That sounded like blah blah blah to me.

All you said has already been said.

Yeah I think that poster meant that she wouldnt be following the case as she doesn't care about Blake lively.

There are an awful lot of cases in the media lately.

Moonfasa100 · 22/12/2024 17:15

I'm sorry for Blake If he did do all that she has said he's done.

It's not nice in any environment to be sexuallt harassed

And with movie contracts they can't just quit the movie can they, you're tied into it for legal reasons, it's hard to get out of doing it

On the point about why they didn't delete emails and texts -

Receipt of the subpoena means they need to comply, or risk being subject to obstructing justice or destruction of evidence charges. They might not have been aware that BL's team went to court for a subpoena - it's entirely possible that the first they knew is when it was served on them.

If that's the case then trying to edit or delete anything is a no-no, because the time and date stamps will show this activity as happening after the subpoena was issued and served. Claiming loss of a device might work for one person - but there were several involved. Some of the correspondence was by email, which is likely in cloud storage and can therefore be accessed remotely if needed. Non-compliance or deleting files runs a real risk of fines and possibly prison.

BringMeTea · 22/12/2024 17:59

So much misogyny on mumsnet. Defending this utter creep/perv of a man. Hope he pays a high price for what he has done.

I think that people would still choose to lose their phones, though rather than hand over personal conversations.

It's a risk but one a lot of people would do.

Anyway I wonder when they will be in court. Probably next year.

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/12/2024 18:10

I think that people would still choose to lose their phones, though rather than hand over personal conversations.

If everyone conspired to lie to the Court, the chances are they would be facing jail time. If you know 10 people are on an email chain, you have to rely on 9 other people being immoral criminals.

And when I am required to produce emails etc. for work, I produce them. Many people adhere to the law.

But what if you "lost" your device but the other party didn't?

"Many people adhere to the law". Apart from rebekah vardys agent - who lost her phone in the ocean!

As evidenced by the subpoena results, clearly JB's PR team disagreed with your hypothesis, as they decided to comply with the subpoena instead of claiming to "lose" their devices.

Loss of devices also makes no difference to retrieving emails and texts which have been stored in the cloud.

As there's only two of them in the chain. Couldn't one of them have said that she had bought a new phone?
And that she didn't have the old phone anymore.

Anyway it didn't happen in this case. They did give the texts in.

I think they gave the texts in, because these texts don't really hurt the people that actually sent the texts.

IE handing the texts in didn't hurt the agents.

They are not the ones being sued. Justin baldoni is the one getting sued.

The cloud. Is that only on apple phones?

I have a Samsung phone. I'm pretty sure that none of my emails or texts are saved in cloud storage

Rebekah Vardy's agent is one person out of many millions and hardly representative of the average person.

BTW she dropped it into the North Sea. The UK is surrounded by seas.

No. It's the WhatsApp cloud. It's a meta product, nothing is ever truly deleted by them.

Your emails are portable with your address so can be accessed wherever you log in.

Trollsandsqueakforbreakfast · 22/12/2024 18:20

AND your phone stores every single message you send and receive, even factory resets doesn't remove them off the device.

OneDrive on Samsung mobiles. Samsung had their own Cloud until recently.
And Google backup.

Interesting.

I have a large extended family.

We used to have a WhatsApp group chat.

My cousin (who works in IT)

got us to move our group chat from WhatsApp to Signal (a different chat app) as he told us that WhatsApp is so unsafe and lacking in privacy.

He said that Signal is a much safer app.

No, the cloud is a general term for online storage.

The PR team were most likely using work email addresses, meaning it will have been their firm's IT infrastructure hosting. Many firms now use cloud storage as part of their IT kit, as it's generally more cost effective than hosting physical storage rooms in offices.

He's not wrong but he's also not right. Meta can't access or read anyone's messages but equally they are all backed up in their cloud so can be pulled back to any device.
