I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, with girl kitten loafed at my feet. She's not as snuggly as boy kitten so this is as good as it gets & she's purring away happily. He's sulking after his trip to the vet yesterday to be neutered & has vanished upstairs after breakfast.

I'm off up to get sorted for my nail appointment shortly. No idea what I want yet - maybe just red 🤔. After that I'm off to finish off my Christmas shopping, alone! I'm really looking forward to it 🎅

Dd2's off to do some shopping with her dad, for my gifts. They'll probably stop off for lunch somewhere. And dd1's spending the day getting ready for a friend's 18th birthday party.

Later on, I'll ice my dad's Christmas cake while cooking tea. That'll probably be frozen pizzas chucked in the oven. Then relax in front of the tv for a while, before I have an early night 💤

What about all of you? 🎄

It was gloomy this morning so stayed cosy in bed with a cup of coffee and a book until 11.30am. Finally got up showered, dressed and put some laundry in. DH and I just heading out for a pub lunch.

Later I will start the present wrapping fuelled by coffee + Baileys. Tonight we'll probably get snacks and watch a Christmas film with DD2 (who will be in charge of of the Velvetiser).

May I ask what snacks you make x

Oh I'm not making anything this year, too tired with adjusting to new job. I just meant we'll starting eating the Christmas snacks!

Good evening @lucysmam and everyone! I'm really late today! I woke up early to have a shower and breakfast in bed (not in that order) before going to the pantomime this morning. We met my daughter and her family there and then had a pizza lunch at the theatre. By the time we got home we were both so knackered we went to bed for a nap - separately as we both have our own bedrooms. Much more conducive to sleep. I have only just got up.

The intention was that I should clean my office (already tidied) before putting the trundle bed in there ready for second daughter's royal stay over Christmas. Youngest grandson gets the spare room as it's easier to toddler-proof. We were also meant to sort out the spare room, remove all the collected detritus (mostly laundry) of the past few weeks, and make toddler's bed. What is actually happening is that I am watching the Christmas episode of The Chelsea Detective while writing this. Eventually we will pop a couple of Iceland frozen curries into the air fryer for our evening meal.

That means that the office and spare room will need to be done tomorrow.... sigh. I have made a list of what needs doing when over Christmas, luckily there wasn't that much on it for tomorrow but I'm going to have to start getting a move on with things. Daughter and toddler arrive on Monday.

@DilemmaDelilah at least you didn't manage to chuck your Christmas cake in the bin today...

Hello @lucysmam 😊

It was my last day in work today so was in a slight panic trying to put things in place and delegate duties before I leave the country for Christmas and New Year 😂 🥳

Managed to get to the gym for a couple of hours this afternoon, I saw a guy who I haven't seen for months mutual crush and he gave me a huge hug and kiss 🥰

Now trying to pack my case ready for the airport tomorrow ✈️ but cats keep climbing in it 🤨

Ha, also getting annoyed with my post chemo hair - it's now at that horrible in-between stage despite a few trims and I resemble a teenager from the 80s 😭😭😭

DilemmaDelilah · 21/12/2024 17:49

@lucysmam oh no!!! How did you manage that? I bought one a month or so ago, haven't started it yet.

lucysmam · 21/12/2024 18:34

@PollyCreo glad it's not just me! It actually looked better last year, around this time of year, when it was similar to Sinead O'Connor's buzz cut! It's driving me a bit nuts & I spotted myself in the backgrounds of some of work's fb/twitter posts.

@DilemmaDelilah grabbed (what I thought was) the baking paper for the bin, crumpled it all up...didn't feel quite right but 🤷‍♀️.

That's because it contained our little cake 🙄

@lucysmam I know what you mean, mine was better when it was shorter and spikier and I looked like an 80s rockstar 😂 Now it's just a floppy mess and I look more like my mother 🤨 Fed up of people asking me if I'm growing it too, like I shaved it off for a laugh 🙄

lucysmam · 21/12/2024 20:07

🤣

"Are you growing it?"

"Nope, electric shock's in next season 😉"

I only managed 1 cycle of chemo before I was hospitalised with chemo toxicity so I thought I wasn't going to lose my hair, but it started coming out in handfuls a couple of months afterwards so I shaved the rest of it off. It got to a very short fuzz by the time I went back to work in January (I work from home - there's no way I would be able to manage in the office) and I've had 4 trips to the hairdresser this year and have found a nice short cut I am happy with. My hair is a tiny bit more wavy than it used to be which helps to make it seem a little thicker, so since it's always been very fine that is good. I have a friend whose hair came back really curly. If your hair is now a different texture you may need to think about a different style now.

Quiet day, last night was a bit of a palaver as friend thought he'd broken an old injury.

So I'm staying in tonight and reading a book and drinking tea and packaging up presents to drop off tomorrow.

Mine came back a little curly but didn't last long, it's now back to its former uselessness, very fine and pouffy if I don't use a ton of wax to tame it 🙃 I tried mousse and blow drying it a few weeks ago but looked like I was auditioning for a remake of The Golden Girls 😱🤣
