Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, with girl kitten loafed at my feet. She's not as snuggly as boy kitten so this is as good as it gets & she's purring away happily. He's sulking after his trip to the vet yesterday to be neutered & has vanished upstairs after breakfast.

I'm off up to get sorted for my nail appointment shortly. No idea what I want yet - maybe just red 🤔. After that I'm off to finish off my Christmas shopping, alone! I'm really looking forward to it 🎅

Dd2's off to do some shopping with her dad, for my gifts. They'll probably stop off for lunch somewhere. And dd1's spending the day getting ready for a friend's 18th birthday party.

Later on, I'll ice my dad's Christmas cake while cooking tea. That'll probably be frozen pizzas chucked in the oven. Then relax in front of the tv for a while, before I have an early night 💤

We’re down with my family for Christmas number one today 😊 Just at my sister’s, DH and the 2 boys are nearly here, DD and I came yesterday and she stayed at Mum and Dad’s. Having presents this afternoon and then full Christmas dinner 🥴 Then have to drive home tomorrow in 2 cars as I have work on Monday

Morning @lucysmam and all. Just having a coffee after baking gingerbread and cleaning the kitchen and dining room. Upstairs bathrooms next. We’ve friends coming for lunch then DD wants to do her Christmas activity book. We’ll probably watch a film later. No idea what’s for tea yet, might depend how much we eat at lunch!

I dropped DD to work at 7.30 (we were a little late, she was supposed to be there for 7.20). Got to Tesco just before 8 and was out around 9. Some woman was nearly having a meltdown because it was 7.55 (or thereabouts) and Tesco wasn't open.

I've unpacked the cold stuff and had some breakfast. Thinking of a little nap now, because I'm flagging a bit. I've a long list of stuff to do when I get up - laundry, cleaning and tidying, drop the glass bottles off at the bottle bank, a few last presents to wrap etc. Most of all, I need to write a 'To do' list. I feel like there's lots of things I'm forgetting. Dinner will be a pasta and pasta sauce job because I cba to cook a proper dinner. Hoping to put my feet up and watch a movie later.

Off to a light trail later on today, so we're just spending the morning getting ready, have some washing on.

Bit tired as i didn't sleep well.

We've had a hearty breakfast at our hotel in Copenhagen, then went for a gander. Found Tivoli Gardens which is just two minutes away (we are visiting properly there tomorrow) had a mooch and a small purchase from the Tivoli lego shop, and are now back in the hotel munching on bread sticks and hummus whilst watching Love Actually after painting DDs nails. We will go back out later as DD wants some photos with her new instax camera, then we will have another little rest before heading back out to the restaurant we found last night. I've already picked out what I'm having. Our hotel also has a beautiful courtyard, so we might sit out there for a drink after our meal this evening.

It's lovely hearing the church bells and seeing all the bikes about.

So far I have walked the dog in cold drizzle and gusty winds, filled the dw, put a load of washing on, tidied the kitchen and living room and had a coffee.
DS, DDIL and the DGCs video WhatsApp’d me to wish me a happy birthday- they’ve got a lovely weekend planned in London.
They’ve sent me the most beautiful flowers, I am so lucky!
I don’t have anything planned, I spent 4 days in bed with flu this week so still feeling wobbly 🙄
Don’t know what I fancy for dinner, no appetite and little taste at the moment. Perhaps Heinz tomato soup, my favourite comfort food.

On my way to my sisters for Christmas - can not wait.

Morning (just, lol) all. Walked the doggies, now chilling before I do a bit of housework. Realised that I need to get a few more things in Sainsbos and there are no more delivery slots this side of Christmas, so I need to brave the actual shop! Baby Pod Dog is being a dick (young Podenco = mental, it’s always All About Her, lol) so it’s going to take twice as long to get out of the door!

I've had a very lazy morning with a cuppa in bed. Dh and ds have gone to see sonic 3 and my others are chilling in their rooms. I finished work yesterday and am hoping for a very quiet weekend as I'm exhausted. Plans for today are wrap my last three presents, run the hoover round and maybe some crochet.

Fairly busy today. We took our youngest to her ice skating and then her tuition centre and then I have a dental appointment at 2:15 and then our 9 year old has a birthday party at 3-5pm. Currently having a little break because at 6:30, the entire family is off to a friend's golden birthday party in a hall. DS13 isn't coming because he is out with his girlfriend all day today and they are exchanging "burr" baskets but the rest of us are! Our older twins are currently at a Christmas market with their friends but they should be back by 6 for a lovely evening out

Got up early so I could drive to another town to go to Lidl and do the Christmas food shop. Forgot the sun does not come up until 9 so waited ages because I didn't want to drive an unfamiliar route in the dark. Did the food shop, got home and realised I forgot soft drinks and presents for my OH's family (that he also forgot to buy and now doesn't have time because he's deep cleaning the house) so I'm having a cup of tea before I go back out to the shops.

DD is still fast asleep and DS is watching Bluey and constantly asking for snacks.

We're going to watch That Christmas this evening and start on the Christmas snacks.

May I just say how lovely this thread is. I am not alone I am sure, in being a regular lurker.

You all paint such a lovely picture of domesticity and normality.

I am currently enjoying my 1st Bailey's of the season while my lovely MIL is cooking up a storm in kitchen for lunch.

My MIL is worth her weight in gold, she's an absolute delight. Xx

Got out of sick bed / sofa nest and ventured out to get some groceries for Christmas , managed M&S food , butchers and Morrisons unscathed but exhausted now - waiting for nurse to come and dress my oozy wounds and think it’ll be nap time

It's nice to just be allowed to be. Not to be pressured into having the Instagram Weekends.

Dh took ds to play football this morning while I slept off a hangover, they came back with my dad and brother in tow who had all gone to support ds in the last match of the season which was lovely. I came downstairs to bacon sandwiches for all!
have mostly been lying down since then but have some wrapping to do this afternoon if I can face it (love wrapping but feeling a bit delicate).
dd1 is working this afternoon/evening, dd2 is at work now but will probably be at her boyfriends tonight, dh has some friends round tonight to watch the boxing so I’ll most likely retire to one of the loft bedrooms far away from their noise and have an early night with some telly and my book.

A whole day on my own as OH is away at his work Christmas outing. Not cooking at all and being a complete tink having a Pot Noodle for lunch and a Tesco curry for dinner.
I just hope he doesn't miss his bus stop home and I have to go out and fetch him!

Morning/afternoon all!

This morning I sorted out the medication and first aid type stuff for the Christmas period and into January onwards and generally pottered about doing odds and sods.

Now I'm about to sort the kitchen out and make sense of the cupboards, fridge and freezer ahead of the big shop coming on Friday. Then I will tidy the craft desk and middle room and front room and finally sit and make a start on the big Christmas shop itself when I know what I have in already for definite!

Currently on the M6 - we left home just before 7.30am and journey has been OK so far, half an hour of delays but traffic smooth again.

We're heading for the ferry from Scotland to N Ireland, luckily we'd booked for today as lots of cancellations for tomorrow's sailings in anticipation of the high winds. Things might be a wee bit choppy but hopefully we'll get away. Looking forward to a nice week seeing family when we do make it.

Stayed over at a friend's last night for mulled wine and a bonfire. Did a bit of shopping on the way back home and remembered light bulbs,candles and napkins so pretty chuffed with myself!
Stripped our bed and put a wash on. Now I need to ice the Christmas cake. Enjoying the peace of an empty house.

I woke up a bit late for me as was awake for a few hours during the night so I’m feeling all behind.

I have had a shower and washed and dried my hair. Cleaned the kitchen sinks and cleared a few bits out of the fridge. Will clean the fridge later properly ready for Ocado deliver tomorrow. Have vacuumed and washed half of the floor in the dining area. Waiting for it to dry before moving chairs around d and doing the other half. Judging by the dirt of the water I might need to do it again tomorrow.

Nipping out this afternoon to get my eyebrows tinted and pop into Sainsburys Local for a few bits.

Also need to tackle DS’s bedroom and bathroom and get DS and DH to move an armchair from upstairs to downstairs.

Might get started in my Christmas jigsaw later and watch something Christmassy.

DH is making chilli for dinner.

Good afternoon, we haven’t done much today, we walked into town for breakfast and walked home via a few playparks for the kids. My husbands watching videos of his next husband (Luigi Mangione!), mum made herself some lunch early that required a glass of wine, she then drank the rest of the wine, she is now asleep on the sofa and her lunch is still waiting for her 🤣

Dh got in from his works night out at 5am so I've been awake since then.

Got up and watch some first dates with a cuppa and the dog.

Since then I've baked and started to assemble a gingerbread house with the kids and briefly popped out to the shops for sweets to decorate it.

It's blowing a gale and pouring rain so I'm not venturing out again.

I have lots of washing to do and beds to change but I can't quite get into it.

I had my morning coffee In bed, got up and showered. Dp took our youngest to visit his mum and cut our dogs hair.
I finished the last of the wrapping and am now browsing MN ☺️
tea will be soup and sandwiches, then we are looking forward to watch in the boxing later on. Xx
