Do you look the same in photos as you do in the mirror?

So I think I look ok in the mirror and then I’ll take a photo on my phone and woah … I look a stone heavier, my eyebrows look huge

I also think that when looking in a mirror you unconsciously adjust position/expression yo be most flattering. In photos (unless a selfie) it's just the raw you and unless you are equally attractive from all angles it's a shock. Who sees themselves in 3/4 or profile view frequently?

I am happy with what I see in the mirror, photos make me wince most of the time. I feel like more data points is needed in this research though. Like what phone does a respondent have. I have an iPhone.

No . Photos show up every nook and cranny and I see myself as 4stone heavier . I just don't seem to take a good photo .

I look better in photos than I do real life/ mirrors. I hate having my photo taken too 😅

That's why I like gentle tweaking my photos to match what I see in the mirror 😂
Photos are a snapshot and can make features look like nothing
The thing to remember is everyone goes through this!

Another trick I do is take a video of myself moving around to see what I look like to others.. usually much better than photos.
But sometimes I take a photo and I'm like ooh that's nice! But doesn't happen as often as I'd like, and has been the same since I was a teenager. Infact I like far more photos now than I did then

No! I do not photograph well at all . I wear a size 16, and can look fine but 99/100 photos make me look like a size 24. I hate it!

Omg totally me as well. I often think I look OK based on mirrors especially in my poorly lit house and then I hate every photo of me. Stones fatter, many more chins, awful from start to finish. How?!!

Mind you, I don't ever look in full length mirrors, I avert my eyes even at home, so given that lots of photos are taken full length (against my will!), it's no surprise I guess.

Photo or mirror makes no difference. I look an ugly old bag either way. However, if I keep my glasses off to look in the mirror there’s a distinct improvement.

I have exactly the same problem! When I put my make up on and do my hair, I think I look quite attractive. But as soon as someone starts taking pictures, I'm filled with dread. I look like a shiny old toad with piss holes, in the snow, for eyes and I really don't like what I see! 😫

Yeah I've got massive eyes normally and people even point them out but in some photos they look so small.

But perhaps they do - to them. You look different because you’re used to seeing your mirror image (which is the reverse of what you see in the mirror). Everyone else looks the same to you because that is how you always see them.

I have an antique mirror in my bedroom and I'm sure my reflection looks different in that compared to other mirrors.

My face always looks lopsided in photos .

I look like a pregnant potato witch in photos.

In the mirror, I look like Catherine Deneuve. In photos I look like Gerard Depardieu.
