"Use the buddy system. When you're scuba diving, you are responsible for your buddy's welfare and your buddy is responsible for yours."

I like that.

She thinks that men can be women so I don't take her seriously on anything else.

Boring.

choccytime · 13/12/2024 20:16

Dont like her so not bothered

Can't remember who the poet was, but I absolutely love it and I think about it all the time.

To keep your marriage brimming.
With love from the loving cup,
When you're wrong, admit it,
And when you're right, shut up.

Love Sandy. Didn't take long for the anti trans lot to derail another thread.

But this thread is NOT about your tedious obsession with trans people. And yet it gets shoehorned into every single subject on here.

@Sunblessed "She was difficult to work with on the Bake Off, she even acknowledged this herself"

She acknowledges very openly that she hated her time on Bakeoff.

I know people who know her in politics and in humanism. Haven't heard a bad word about her. No idea how she is in the entertainment world though.

It’s the unparalleled Ogden Nash, and DH and I quote it often

Well that was reflected in the way she worked with people at the Bake Off.

Not everyone loves their job but we don’t have the luxury of isolating ourselves from co workers and being difficult. We have to get on with it and be civil.

The actual first reply on this thread was about the issue. Honestly I don’t think there is a subject that the mn trans obsessives can’t cram the issue into. Not one single one.

I'd rather follow the airlines advice. Secure your own mask before helping others

'When you're scuba diving...' it says in the quote.

They will have checked their own safety equipment and air supply already.

😂

IdylicDay · 13/12/2024 20:54

Since others have already brought up her betrayal of womens rights - As far as any advice or 'prescription' the likes of Sandy want to give, this Australian feminist says it well:

We're 51% of the population, it shouldn't be surprising that we have an issue with people like Sandy who want to deny us our rights.

Its MALE 'obsessives', not 'trans' obsessives.

And perhaps if the removal of womens basic human rights didn't have its tentacles into every single sphere and facet of society, it wouldn't be brought up so much. But clearly some don't have the ability to connect the dots.

No one cares about trans people. The ‘you’re anti trans obsessed’ narrative is probably more boring.

People care about men being in women’s spaces where they shouldn’t, whether they identify as a woman or a cat. ST stands for this. Don’t be surprised when people don’t like her as a result. People are allowed to dislike others for a plethora of reasons you know.

Easier for the hard of thinking to shout about people being ‘anti-trans’ obsessives though 🙄.

I'll leave you to derail another thread and go talk about cats or something. Surely that topic is safe from the anti trans lot.

In hetero relationships how about women look after themselves first before others, and men look after others first before themselves. Then it might just about even out.

Please do. And it’s ’anti-men in women’s spaces’, seeing as you’re having difficulty with that. No one cares where trans men (females) go.

HTH.

And on and on and on you go misrepresenting it as 'anti trans'. I suppose that's easier than admitting to truth of what its about. It gives one plausible deniability to justify turning a blind eye to womens suffering. Just pretend the issue is about something else entirely.

And this kind of patronising bollocks is the reason why most people don’t want to call out people like you for derailing thread after thread after thread every single day on mn with this issue.

You are not converting people to the cause with your “caring”, you are turning people off with the constant monotone.

so go 🙄 yourself.

And you think you're converting people with your sneering, your disinterest and your blatant misrepresenting what our views are? Do you really, really think you're converting anyone? Really?

Btw, since Sandy presents herself as a 'feminist' and since she is giving relationship advice, pointing out her advice cannot be relied on is not 'derailing'. In fact, its very much on topic.

I’m certain in decent relationships both parties put each other first regardless of sex.
Certainly the case in mine and that of my parents, in- laws and grandparents.
Maybe what’s missing is a good example.
