The alternative to mince pies is... what?

A group of us are providing drinks (soft and alcoholic) and mini mince pies after an event. We would also like to provide an alternative to mince pies recognising not everyone likes dried fruit. What would you say is the alternative? Budget is a consideration.

Some members have suggested chocolate biscuits- this doesn't feel like it "goes with " soft drinks and mulled wine.

Others have suggested chocolate brownies- I like the idea but probably tricky on this scale- catering for 40-50.

Struggling to think what the "go-to" mince pie alternative is. Thanks!

Apple pies don't have dried fruit, look similar and you could dust with cinnamon and icing sugar.

Cheese Straws! Not everyone wants something sweet. Or cheese scones…

SoUnsureWhatToDo · 10/12/2024 22:14

Mini stollen, lebkuchen or Bakewell tarts here. Obviously check for nut allergies.

Ggmores · 10/12/2024 22:15

Something gluten free and dairy free would be good. Brownies are probably a good option for that

BaronessBomburst · 10/12/2024 22:15

Shortbread or cinnamon biscuits

I'm the PTA Chair & we're doing refreshments at the school carol concert - we're serving hot chocolate, mini mince pies, and Rocky Road & Chocolate Bites for Aldi. Worked out a similar price to the mini mince pies.
Other options I considered were stollen bites, luebuken, cupcakes, doughnuts.
