I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, in almost silence. The washer's whirring away with towels in, but it's otherwise quiet 😊 I'm just going to sit for half an hour, then spring into action.

It's tree day here 🎄 & I'm so looking forward to it, and the other decorations, going up! The girls take the mick a bit but it's one of my favourite days of the year.

Before that though, I need to have a quick tidy round, wash a few pots, stick tonight's gammon in the slow cooker, take my tablets, and pack up a couple of things I've sold on Vinted to send later on. I've made enough for the train fare to Harrogate for the Christmas market, and food while we're there so I'm happy with that!

Tonight it'll be my usual Self-Care-Sunday scrubby everything shower, followed by an hour or two of crochet, then an early night 💤 ready for work tomorrow.

What about all of you? 🙂

Hello Everyone!

Lazy morning in bed until ten.

Then kitchen chores and laundry.

Have walked the dog, but will go again tonight as love a Christmas street walk looking at the pretty lights.

DD has sports practice.

Then a cosy dinner and a Christmas film.

@JMAngel1 happy to might be tomorrow now so do check back!

Enjoy your tree day @lucysmam - ours is next weekend. It won't be quite the same this year as ds1 is away at uni, but I don't want to wait until the 14th when he gets home.

Dh and I have been to watch ds2 play rugby this morning (they lost 😞)

This afternoon ds is going to the cinema with a friend so Dh and I are going to take a walk into town and possibly have a little drink whilst we're out.

Slow cooked brisket is on for tonight's dinner and I've got leek and potato soup bubbling away ready for a couple of lunches for me / after school or rugby snacks for ds. He is actually eating us out of house and home at the moment so I'm trying to have things in that he can snack on which are vaguely healthy and not a whole other meal!

It seems that lots of us have lovely DHs - aren't we lucky! So different from the usual mumsnet DH. Mine is the best - of course 😁

Sadly no DH here - passed away 15 years ago.
But, next best thing - shortly back from collecting son (21) from the ferry and got our tree! Mega busy farm and parking lot was a sea of mud (in fact they had a tractor there to pull a few cars out)! The tree is still in the car as he wanted to walk the dog but bet he regrets that as it's started to rain.
I've promised him a lamb roast tonight - roasters, Yorkshire puds, the works! He wants it now! I'm holding off so it's ready at 6. We will watch a Christmas film.
Tomorrow we go to storage unit to get the decs out and try and find the tree stand which seems to get under everything each year. Noticed a few tress already up in the street.

Tis way late for my post, but only just logged on. This morning I was doing solicitor forms in relation to our impending house sale. It just takes so long and feels so repetitive. I've then been to gym and had a swim and steam with DH. After lunch we've cleaned the house in anticipation of Christmas decorating and begun the slog of dragging decs out of the loft.

It has taken hours to get all the decs up, just a standard tree, some indoor lights, a wreath and candles. I think because dd is away at uni this year there's just more for me to do. As is tradition, we've opened the baileys and had a mince pie with the Christmas music videos on TV.

Now I just need to get all of the empty boxes back in the loft. I'm making lasagne for dinner, ds at work and won't be in til 8 so no real rush. Maybe a glass of wine and some TV later, I fancy watching Sweetpea

@JMAngel1
I know it's a bit young but the teens said it's good so I am going to read "The Dark is Rising" by Susan Cooper

"Still Life" by Louise Penny

I have x2 short crime stories from throughout the ages edited by Martin Edwards
"Crimson Snow" and "A Surprise for Christmas"

Brought out "Father Christmas's Fake Beard" by Terry Pratchett, short stories to read aloud for kids.

The Skandar books, think new magic Harry Potter type - been told they are very good.

Think that's all in the house but if I run out I can always get new ones.

If you like crime stories, all very gentle ones, would look at the "Murder in Midwinter" ones edited by Cecily Gayford.

And if you haven't read it, "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern is wonderful, not strictly a Christmas book but full of magic and fantasy.

@frozendaisy
