Who is putting up their Christmas tree today?🎄

We might put the outside tree lights up if it stops raining but think indoors will have to be next weekend.

I also would be a mid December (very mininal) decorator by choice but Christmas is my 8 year old's most favourite time and he's been telling me weekly, since October, how much he loves Christmas. The 5 year old isn't remotely bothered about when we decorate.

So yes, we've taken everything out of the cupboard under the stairs. Will go to buy a wreath for the door today and I'll start the outdoor decorations around 10am.

No don’t like it up to early. DH and DD went to the farm yesterday to choose one, will be delivered on Thursday so will but it up next weekend. Earlier than normal but I have the granddaughters staying 12-14 December so it will be nice for them to have it.

Next weekend or weekend after. We get a real trree.

Mine went up yesterday. I enjoy the Christmassy lead up in the month of December, after the 26th it all feels 'over' and I take them down.

I did mine last Saturday. Not a real one as I'm allergic to them

I'm having a shit end to my year, currently undergoing chemotherapy, and having a pretty tree to look at makes me feel better. All the 'it's too soon' people can keep their opinions to themselves.

It seems like everyone is going really early this year. Friends and relatives who usually wait a while longer have already got their trees. I was aiming for 14th as it starts to annoy me if it’s up too long, but DH has convinced me to go and get one next weekend and I’m looking forward to it.

We get a Nordman Fir and have it cut fresh on the day we pick it up. We water it daily and keep it as far away from a radiator as possible. It lasts 5 weeks fine.

My DS is a funny one, when Heart radio 'turned on Christmas' (start playing Christmas songs) he was all like - "what?! Noooo! It's still November!" but the minute it's December, he goes full on festive mode! DD doesn't care a jot 😂

Ds1 really wanted to get it early, and DP is working today, so we were all up at 7.30 and heading off to the Christmas tree farm. It's currently sitting in a bucket of water outside and will be brought in after we've had breakfast.

I'll do the lights and then both dss and I will decorate it. I'll do the rest of the house over the next week (two more trees, but artificial ones, and a shedload of house decorations).

We were but DS GF can’t make it round today so we are doing it next weekend. She loves Christmas so likes the chance to do ours as well. I am off to a Christmas concert this afternoon it’s songs by a choir and then some the audience join in with.

Not us, but ours will stay up until the schools go back and now until January 5th. A tree doesn’t last that long in here because of the heating going on and off.

I have to go out today but DH is going to get the artificial tree out the garage and put it together. We’ll decorate it (the fun bit!) when I get home.

I would love a real tree in an ideal world but the dropping needles stress me out and I get this thing where I suddenly can’t bear to look at it any more and want it gone that instant which is a bit trickier with a real tree. The artificial one I can take down whenever I like (although having a New Year’s Eve party this year so it should probably stay up until at least then).

We are! I say 'we', my husband doesn't care about trees and my son has ADHD and will probably lose focus after about 10 mins. So I will be doing most of it...

I was going to do it today but did it yesterday instead! Got a few more bits and pieces to put up around the house today, as well as lots of housework and clearing up the devastation from putting it up yesterday.

Nope- we have a real tree which sits in a room with a log fire. If we put it up now it would be nothing more than a dead twig with a pile of pine needles underneath by the 25th!
Ours usually goes up the weekend before Christmas and down on 12th night

Me! I’m so excited. We bought a real tree yesterday morning, chopped a couple of inches off the trunk and left it in a bucket of water in the shed overnight. We’ll bring it in and put it in the stand shortly then leave the branches to settle for the day before decorating this evening. I put the wreath on the door and most of the other decorations around the house yesterday so just need to get the outside lights up and we’re almost there.

Doing outdoor lights today, tree maybe during the week.

Just the small potted one (last year’s) outside the front door today - assuming I can find the small set of lights that work….
