I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, in silence. The kittens are darting about like loons upstairs, after following me down 🙄

Dd1's already left for work, she finishes at 5:30.

I'll see if dd2's awake shortly to have a mooch into town with me.

One of our local market buildings has recently been done up & there's a festive market taking place there today so I thought it'd be nice to have a look and see what's on offer, as well as nosey at the building.

After that, we'll either head to the outlet for a wander, or come home, via B&M to see what tinsel they have and if they have any ceiling decorations. Depends how much can be arsed we have!

Not a clue what's for tea yet - should look in the freezer really! I haven't cooked properly all week 🙈. Then it'll be an hour with my crochet church, and bed for me 💤💤

What about all of you? & what's for tea? Maybe someone will inspire me! 😊

Been to Tesco for most of the big shop with DD - there's a load of stuff I can't reach but she can!
Will probably need to go back later for. few bit for competitions/presents, as she wanted to get back home to have lunch and get to work; I'll be taking her to the Metrocentre for that.
DS was still in bed and is currently having his breakfast; we had to get him up to lift the heavy bags out of the car; my right knee still isn't 100% and nor is my left arm, and DH is still on crutches, though he'd managed a shower this morning. Apparently he is coming with us to take DD.
I'm hoping to get a bit of 'Christmassing' done this afternoon, got the candle bridge out and that's in the porch now but most of the rest of the stuff (tree and decorations) is in the loft, I want to get some presents wrapped and see what I still need to buy.
Also, first Christmas without my Mum and she always dressed her house for Christmas so I want to try, I have some of her cushion covers and stuff.

Afternoon all, happy Saturday.

So far today we've done swimming lessons, barber for DC1, swapped library books, posted some parcels and picked up some stuff for lunch (everyone has just had avocado and scrambled eggs on the posh bread they like from the local bakers!)

DC2 and DC3 have a birthday party in a few hours (it's a rock climbing party - that's a new one on us!!) with Pizza Express after so we won't be home until gone 7pm. DC1 is having some friends over and DP will be back from work about 5ish to bung some beige stuff in the oven for them (onions rings, chips, chicken dippers!) Junk food all round today.

We've started all the Harry Potter films from the beginning again so we'll start Chamber of Secrets later. We desperately need some new films that a 7, 10 and 12yo will enjoy.

I've just treated myself to a double tea bag cup of tea, tea has to be strong and I can't be bothered to wait today.
Grieving my Dad, saw a photo of him on Google and broke down.
I'll miss him every day.
In between though I've been spending time with my toddler today we went to the village to a craft fayre, treated ourselves to a baby chino and coffee with a cake they're on a nap now and then we will do some visiting of family.
Christmas is well and truly cancelled this year. I haven't the energy, not even bothered putting my Christmas PJ's out yet.

mamaduckbone · 30/11/2024 13:38

Happy Saturday @lucysmam and mumsnet!
I've been for a run and coffee with my friend, had a bit of a tidy and walked into town to get a couple of bits.
I'm taking my 92yo mum and her friend to the garden centre to see the Christmas shop later - wish me luck. I also need to get my work secret Santa - she's a gardener so I should find something.
Dh is at work, ds2 has his gf round then he's at a party tonight so it will just be the 2 of us, which is normal these days.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 30/11/2024 13:45

Husband out for the day so I've dragged the Christmas decorations from the loft and started building the 3 trees, they'll get decorated tomorrow but i won't have enough time tomorrow to build and decorate hence building today.
Daughter is watching muppet Christmas carol

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 30/11/2024 13:51

It's my birthday today. DH is in bed as he just got off night shift and the teens are all hibernating in their rooms as usual.

So I've done the kids laundry, put the bins out and am watching tv.

Happy Saturday everyone! Double found of Christmas Fairs this morning to drop off malteaser fudge for the teas. Very poor showing at the bottle stalls, I'm afraid to report - spent a fiver, won a lip balm. Disappointing. Then we went to the library to exchange books. Been feeling a bit off colour lately so will take it easy this afternoon. Not feeling the festive vibes yet but conscious of a looming to do list, so I might stick on some carols and candles and try to tick off some bits. DH's amazing homemade pizza for dinner - yum!

RabbitsRock · 30/11/2024 14:05

Afternoon all - busy day so far but nice as have spent quality time with DD15 & ended up with both of us crying with laughter at some Tik Tok videos. Popped into town to collect my Boots Black Friday bargain (Vera Wang Princess down from £60 odd to £18!) then to Pets At Home for bunny treats & FarmFoods. Might go to a Christmas craft fair at a local garden centre although it will no doubt be packed & money’s a bit tight this month. DH working til 5. Unloaded the dishwasher & partially loaded it again & about to put some wet clothes in the tumble dryer as it’s showery. Tea is salmon en croute with broccoli for me & probably bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches for DH. DD will sort herself out. We might watch a film tonight.

DilemmaDelilah · 30/11/2024 17:50

@NeedthatFridayfeeling 3 trees! I thought that I was being profligate with 2! One in the sitting room and one in the dining room... and only the one in the sitting room is real

lucysmam · 30/11/2024 18:05

@Bbq1 who are they? Their gig sounds right up mine & dd1's alley!

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 30/11/2024 18:51

@DilemmaDelilah 😄 Big 7ft in the kitchen/family room, 5ft in the sitting room and a 4ft in my daughters room, i only count that as she can't set it up yet (she's 8) but she'll be decorating it

@Crunchymum my DC are really enjoying Merlin on iPlayer at the moment. It's a series not a film but based on merlin/king Arthur legend. Some bits are a bit scary but if your DC like Harry potter they'll be fine!

MarmaladeSideDown · 30/11/2024 20:42

I went to Sainsburys and a craft fair this morning, this afternoon we all went to the local church Christmas tree festival, then the town Christmas lights switch-on. Back home again for hot dogs and home-made coleslaw. DH has gone down the pub.

Meanwhile, three loads of laundry done throughout the day.

At the moment, I am simultaneously watching Star Wars on the telly, reading a book about how to structure & write screenplays, and reading a thread on Mumsnet about AI and what people use it for. My brain is fried!
