I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, in silence. The kittens are darting about like loons upstairs, after following me down 🙄

Dd1's already left for work, she finishes at 5:30.

I'll see if dd2's awake shortly to have a mooch into town with me.

One of our local market buildings has recently been done up & there's a festive market taking place there today so I thought it'd be nice to have a look and see what's on offer, as well as nosey at the building.

After that, we'll either head to the outlet for a wander, or come home, via B&M to see what tinsel they have and if they have any ceiling decorations. Depends how much can be arsed we have!

Not a clue what's for tea yet - should look in the freezer really! I haven't cooked properly all week 🙈. Then it'll be an hour with my crochet church, and bed for me 💤💤

What about all of you? & what's for tea? Maybe someone will inspire me! 😊

Aldi then a huge sort out. I have let my bedroom get out of control (ADHD) so plan on a brutal sort out and charity shop.

Went to the tip yesterday so now have all my garden bags empty. So the plan is to get ds out there with me shortly and start clearing the 16 zillion oak leaves that are carpeting my front and back gardens. I live pretty much underneath a pair of huge oaks…

Morning...I've been up awhile. Had breakfast and finished off making a door wreath for my mum. I'll walk into town with my son when he goes to work as I need to pick up a prescription and will have a mooch round the shops. Will pop to the reptile shop later as need some food for my orchid mantis.

I’m normally at my favourite house 😳 at the weekend but pesky dd2 is there with friends, so I’m making the most of being “home home” with a car. Spent yesterday moving precariously housed London renting DD1 home and I’m going to despatch her and DH to see frail granny (car bonus) and unpack for her. Two filled to the roof big cars worth 😩
They're both still asleep at the moment so I’m on the sofa with dog and hwb, having dropped DS off for a road trip at 7am, came home and bought him travel insurance and now shattered!

Good morning @lucysmam . I was awake for nearly 3 hours in the night (not an unusual occurrence) so it was lovely not to wake up until just before 9am. I've had my breakfast in bed, porridge with golden syrup this morning, taken all 15 of my morning pills, and I'm about to get up and get dressed so we can go to Lidl.

I went to Sainsbury's yesterday to see if they had any more of their slinky velour Christmas pyjamas in my size, there are none online, and ended up with 3 pairs so I am cosied up in one of them right now. There wasn't time for any food shopping though, I fit it in between a dental and a hair appointment, hence the Lidl visit today. Also Lidl are cheaper for the things I want today... Brown sugar, oats and rice. Of course that won't be all we get - it never is! We need the brown sugar and the oats for the flapjacks we need to make today. I make a big batch and then freeze them them individually, just taking out half a dozen at a time to put into the box by our front door for our delivery drivers/postmen.

This evening we need to pick up middle grandson from the cathedral. It's the Christingle service this afternoon so it's a little bit earlier today. Tomorrow it is the Advent service which ends later. DH has expressed a wish to go to that service so we will be doing that.

Time to get up and explore the delights of Lidl.

I'm off to a Christmas party with a group from my choir, one of the long-standing members very kindly hosts our section at her beautiful house every year. I'm currently baking madelines to take as my contribution - first batch not great but I'll adjust the oven temp and amount of batter before the next lot and hopefully they'll do better!

Party is over lunchtime so I'll stop at the supermarket on the way home for bits we need for the week.

DD (17) isn't up yet but she has some homework to do and said she might go into town with a friend.

We're having a new garage built at the moment so DH has just headed to order the garage door.

Then later on we're getting the Christmas stuff down to decorate the house and put the (artificial) tree up across today and tomorrow morning. Probably a takeaway for tea tonight.

Expect we'll be starting to feel Christmassy by the end of the day!

Morning! Had cup of tea fed animals let dog out and retreated back to bed. But plan is to walk said dog then massive get ready for Christmas decorating tomorrow! My DD is at uni now so not around to help pick out a tree but my son has said he would come help (he lives about 80 miles away no car) and first thing we will do tomorrow is go to storage unit to get the boxes of decs out. Monday we will get the tree. Whoop whoop!

Still taking things easy while open wounds close and recovering from hysterectomy but today I have my niece visiting and going to help ‘D’H sort the garage - the contents of which are currently all over the kitchen. It’s the second time he’s done this when I’m poorly but I will sit in a chair and categorise then he can move to the relevant racking.

I had a little walk round to the shop lastnight and was fine so thinking of popping to small M&S in town later - see how I am

Morning all. Looks like I’ll be spending the day looking for the blasted elves. Every year we forget where we hide them 🤦‍♀️

I also have to do a bit of cleaning this morning then might take the kids out this afternoon. There’s a lights switch on we might go to later but last year’s was very underwhelming so I’m not that bothered!

I’m also looking for inspiration for dinner - DP will be shopping around lunchtime so need to decide soon.

Morning all, I love reading these, lots of gorgeous festive plans. Ours have been cancelled due to the dreaded stomach flu arriving in our household. I’ve got a grizzly baby and a very poorly toddler; the tele will be working hard today! I’ll try to escape for a walk at some point. Disappointing as I had plans to meet friends for lunch today and a family day out tomorrow, but never mind! This time of year is such a bugger for germs.

I'm not long up but realised we slept in for my DC to go to the youth group at our local theatre. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm wardrobe mistress at the theatre and last night we had everyone dressed on to turn on our Christmas lights which was fun. Well I was told it was fun, I was up at the theatre on my own as I was too sore to walk down as I fell down my stairs on Thursday and I'm still rather tender (turns out if you go down them too quickly then you'll accidentally go down the last 3 or 4 in one go and hurt basically every part of your body as you hit the ground and wall and door 🙈).

So I'm sort of taking it easy today but we need to start moving furniture in our hallway and defrosting our freezer for the new fridge freezer we've bought which is arriving on Wednesday.

Dressed up not dressed on. Obviously while I'm awake, my brain isn't quite yet. 🙈

Morning all - been up early prepping my Christmas cake - late making it this year but just worked 6 days straight so making it tomorrow.
Soaking 1kg dried fruit in brandy for 24 hours beforehand - we like a boozy Christmas cake!

Had a lovely read of Nigel’s CC in bed with my cappuccino and now sorting through laundry.

About to get ready to go to Homesense to look for a new Christmas Cake tin - would love to find a vintage style Italian panetonne type tin but the diameter is usually too small - fingers crossed they have something festive and wide enough.

Then off to visit my Dad for a cuppa with DDs.

Back home then much needed pamper session as off to a fancy restaurant for a friend’s birthday - had delivery of three dresses in the week but been too busy to even try them on - hopefully one will work and the rest will go back. Options are a black crepe, green velvet or chocolate brown leather. Knowing me, I’ll end up in the black!

Getting ready for a party at home and took on cleaning under the kitchen cupboards (why?) but I defrosted the freezer and I feel on a roll / also have a slow cooked beef on for tomorrow and a curry made

We've had a lazy morning drinking coffee and doing a new jigsaw puzzle with the kids. We started it last night and completed it about half an hour ago. They are now watching Moana in prep for going to see the new film at some point soon.

We are waiting on a delivery update for our new sofas coming today and hoping we have enough time in the day to put the Christmas tree up later too. We have some new window lights I want to try and figure out this year too.

It's spaghetti and meatballs for dinner here. I've got the sauce going already it will simmer for a few hours and then meatballs go in for the last hour.

Oooh I just got an email and I'll be waiting in for our new kitchen bin to be delivered today now. It's a Joseph Joseph Totem one with space for rubbish at the top and recycling at the bottom.

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. Chilled morning here. Me and DD headed out shortly, promised her a McDonalds as she's desperate to get one of the fluffy Grinches. Then we're going to a local garden centre that does Christmas in a big way, to look at the decorations, model villages etc. It's gorgeous but very expensive so will have to rein DD in a bit, but will probably treat us to a new decoration and a cake in the cafe. Then home to watch Strictly and try to start tidying up for putting the tree up (probably do that next week as tomorrow is jam packed too!) Once DD is in bed I'll be unearthing the Elves who will bring the advent calendars tomorrow

So far just walked the dogs, exercised on my mini trampoline.....and broke it! (Im not massive, its just really old!).
Then dyed my hair and face pack, and obviously had to answer the door to the postie like that.
Rest of the day will be cleaning the house, making a big vat of soup for the week and getting out the christmas decs so I can put them up tomorrow.

I've been busy this morning, done my housework jobs out of the way and have attached the garland to the bannister. Christmas tree is up and it's all very cosy and festive.

Plan for the rest of the day is to get the outside lights up if the rain holds off 🤞🏼.

It's the last quiet weekend we have before Christmas now as we have days out with the dc planned for the next few weeks so making the most of it.

Just up enjoying a potato cake and tea. Fed kitty then taking coffee and tea up for Dh and Ds Iceland delivery at 12.30, shower first.
We are going to watch our son's band gigging tonight. They are a real rock band and doing very well locally and further afield. It's their last gig of the year. Dh is their defacto manager so will be taking ds for load in and staying to set up our merch stand etc. I'll get a cab to the venue later, around 6.30 in time for the gig.

Went to Sainsburys to get a few bits and pick a clothes order up
Came home took the dog for a walk
Just had my Urban Outfitters order delivered
Just catching up with this weeks Shetland whilst having a coffee and croissant
Going to go upstairs after as need to sort my wardrobe out and find somewhere to hide some Christmas gifts for Dh and Dd
Need to clean upstairs and do some washing
Dd is away at university
Dh is away with work
Lasagne for tea tonight will watch Strictly then go to bed and read / listen to a podcast

Home, first load of washing on.
Sausage or bacon sandwiches for lunch. Bit odd gardening interspersed with F1 and rugby (Ire v Aus so a biggie).
Probably fajitas for tea, more F1 and musicals week on Strictly

We are having a late breakfast out after being at the school fair.

Going to have a wander round town then home to walk the dog and possibly a nap. So tired after a crazy week.

Not sure about tea plans yet. Have tons in but no motivation to cook.
