Is a WaterPik worth it?

I currently have £89 worth of Boots points and the WaterPik I’m looking at is only £30. Are they good?

It should be £75, I think it’s on offer at £30.

Oh that seems good.

Yes. Mine's a cheap one and I hate using it (to be fair, I hate all dental devices) but it does the job admirably. Teeth are too crowded & crooked to get teepee brushes in properly, and I love that I can squirt water right into the edges of the gums as well.

Agree that it makes 'em feel 'dentist clean'.

Warm water and keep you mouth closed! Put it in, close your mouth, switch it on and move slowly along gum lines back and front. Turn it off before spitting all the satisfying food bits out!

I do use teepees too and an electric toothbrush. I stand on one leg and use in my non dominant hand while I do the NYT connections puzzle!

I waterfloss, then tepe then floss my upper arch. The electric toothbrush. But I do have troublesome gums.

I hated mine - I was completely incapable of using it without spraying water all over myself! Plus the cold water hurt my teeth.

I use interdental brushes now and they are so much better!

They do suggest that you use warm water. I have bad tooth sensitivity. Cold water is a no-no but warm water (tepid) is fine.

I've just bought myself a water flosser (Waterpik) and had my first go with it yesterday. Much better than tepe brushes, which I don't get on with, even the long handled ones with an angled head.

I got on much better with the water flosser so for me it's worth it. I'm still mastering the art of not showering myself with it, and I'll get there. Could always use it in the shower I guess. 😃

I have used Waterpiks for years and I wouldn't be without one. You get the hang of it quickly then you don't get water all over the place. If you have sensitive teeth you can use warm water, you can also use mouthwash in it if you like. It's great for getting everything out of the awkward little gaps. Dentists I've been to all approve of them.

I have gum pockets and find my Waterpik really essential. I use them in conjunction with brushing, string floss and tepe sticks - my teeth feel cleanest when I've used them all. Sometimes I get lazy and skip the Waterpik (but still brush, floss and use tepe brushes) and I really notice the difference, my gums get sensitive because they haven't been cleaned deeply enough. I use the normal Waterpik tip all over my mouth and the pocket tip for my gum pockets.

my dentist has recommended i use a water flosser but i want to borrow my partners one first before i invest. He says it needs a new tube. Are they like a pressure washer for your teeth ?
