This cold weather makes me want toast and bread but I'll pile in the lbs if I carry on.

What are you all eating that's healthy?

Beef stew with loads of veg.

LoveIsLikeAFartIfYouHaveToPushItsUsuallyShit · 21/11/2024 11:02

Broth soups with meat, veg and either noodles or potatoes. Depends on a mood

BeatriceAndLottie · 21/11/2024 11:03

Beans on (sourdough) toast & chocolate covered pistachios are my two semi-healthy winter addictions at the minute!

Chicken casserole, loads of veg
Soup and crackers
Porridge with a range of toppings, fruit, honey, yogurt
I could do with some fresh inspo, tbh

AuntieMarys · 21/11/2024 11:09

Poached eggs on crumpets

INeedNewShoes · 21/11/2024 11:11

Boiled eggs with wholegrain sourdough toast

Clementines are on the shelves again. I eat one every day when they're available! I just love them and there's a gentle Christmasy association with the citrus smell

Porridge topped with plums cooked in butter and brown sugar

WonderingAboutBabies · 21/11/2024 11:19

Chicken or sausage casseroles, cottage or shepherd's pie, soups, jacket potato with fillings, curries..

Buddhistcauliflower · 21/11/2024 11:21

Whatever my body craves, which is mainly mashed potato and gravy at this time of year.

Oh my, please tell me where I can find chocolate covered pistachios!?

LochNessy · 21/11/2024 11:26

got a beef stew (tons of veg in) in the slow cooker for dinner, but also hearty soups, and just warming meals like shepherds pie, lentil Dahl, spaghetti bolognese, lentil/chicken casserole, meat and veg with gravy. I just make sure I have lots of vegetables.

caramac04 · 21/11/2024 11:27

Home made veg soup for lunch
Cottage pie with swede mash for dinner

BigDahliaFan · 21/11/2024 11:27

Porridge (pin head oatmeal at the moment) with Greek yoghurt, nuts, seeds and fruit from the freezer.

Lentil or Bean soups.

Mixed veg mash - parsnip, carrot, celeriac, turnips, potatoes - a mix of any two or 3 really.

Spicy broth type noodle soup. But I'm always ravenous shortly afterwards.

Omelette for breakfast.

Roast dinners.

Stew.

sausage pasta....

Sugarflub · 21/11/2024 11:28

Porridge! Oats and milk on the hob, mix in frozen winter berries and then top with some maple syrup and almonds (maybe a banana if super hungry). So warm and comforting!

Also the classics- meat and veg with roasties, soups, toasties etc.

MissyB1 · 21/11/2024 11:33

I'm another one with beef and veg stew in the slow cooker right now! I also eat porridge every day with added seeds, nuts and berries. Oh and I make rice pudding once a week, I'm doing one later.

M&S - they’re amazing!!

MiddleAgedDread · 21/11/2024 11:35

a lot of veg soups!!

ArcheryAnnie · 21/11/2024 11:38

Steamed/boiled cauliflower with tahini on top.

Boiled eggs.

A huge bowl of instant ramen with about half the volume being shredded cabbage. I love ramen, and I love cabbage. You can add all sorts of toppings, too - a halved soft-boiled egg is lovely, as is nutritional yeast, or grated cheese.

Today: baked potatoes. (Potatoes are very high on the "satiety index" - ie they make you feel fuller for longer - so are great if you like a big dinner.) Mine have to have a crispy skin.

Spicy red lentil soup (see Lost in Food UK website)

Naturally Ella red lentil masala with spinach

Riverford celeriac and mushroom pie

OliviaRodrighost · 21/11/2024 11:40

Pieces of chicken breast air fried and then coated in a spicy sauce like Korean barbecue. Always warms me up!

Tomatocutwithazigzagedge · 21/11/2024 11:44

Shepherd's pie with lean mince and loads of veg -
I'm caning Brussels sprouts like there's no tomorrow, and I batch cook red cabbage in the oven so there's always some on hand.

Beef stew or Beef bourguignon

Porridge every morning

CheekySwan · 21/11/2024 11:45

Chips - homemade with 1 jacket potato cooked in air fryer with fry light and some salt or seasoning, poached eggs and beans

Fish and chips (chips as above), with mushy peas

Sausage casserole, beef stew, chicken casserole, honey sweet chicken with noodles, shepherds pie, all done in the slow cooker

Sausage and mash made with chicken sausages

Chicken dinner with lots of veg

I'm hungry!

Loads of soups with sourdough bread.
Crumpets and butter (ok, not very healthy but so comforting!)
Sausage and mash
Beans on toast
Jacket potatoes
Fish cakes
