What's for dinner this week?

Hey all,

I'm into an 'everything is boring and repetitive' meals cycle again so want to ask, what are the next meals you've planned or will be having this week?

In our home there's 2 adults (share the cooking) two teens and one smaller child. So anything that is a meal that goes quite far is willingly accepted as an idea! Usually spend about half an hour cooking in the evenings.

Ideas please?

We usually have on an average week
Pasta with sauce / garlic bread
Fajitas/ enchiladas/ quesadillas
Curry and rice
Fish and veg
Full English
Roast
Pizza (sometimes bought sometimes I make them)

@Neurodiversitydoctor I'm not sure anyone has a right to tell other adults what they "should be eating". And some people can't tolerate a lot of pulses.

doggydaft · 19/11/2024 18:23

Yesterday was roast chicken, baked potato, salad. Was nice, but it's freezing and it felt like a summer dinner.
Chicken and rice soup with bagels.
Spag bol.
Curry and rice.
Tuscan sausage pasta.
And the weekend will take care of itself as I'm working, DH will fend for himself, and adult DS will probably be out with his girlfriend.

Shakshuka with crusty bread, olives and feta. Salad.

Ful medames with a salad, pitta breads, hard boiled eggs and olives.

Salmon with tenderstem broccoli, soft roasted leeks, roasted butternut squash, and a creamy dill sauce.

Cod and herb fishcakes on a bed of spinach with crusty bread, salad, and roasted chantenay carrots and beetroot.

Homemade roasted pumpkin and sage soup.

Two types of homemade curry; king prawn and a chickpea and spinach one. Rice and papadams, yoghurt, mint and cucumber dip.

Baked sweet potatoes stuffed with (cooked) tomato, spinach, tahini, spring onion and sharp cheddar. Salad on the side.

I only meant for maximum health benefits as someone suggested chicken as a good source of protien

Yesterday, I'd been out for lunch, so wasn't hungry. Did pasta and meatballs for ds.

Tonight we've had homemade cheeseburgers with wedges and salad.

Tomorrow is roast pork dinner.

Thursday I've got a friend arriving to stay for a few days and she's asked me to make lasagne. Serving with garlic ciabatta, salad and coleslaw.

Out for dinner Friday and Saturday nights due to friend being here.

We normally have a roast, homemade pizzas, a pasta dish or two, something like hunters chicken, burgers, fajitas/enchilladas/burritos, occasionally steak, paella/risotto, chilli and jacket potatoes, curry.

I don't think people are posting on here to be given a lecture.

I had chicken and bacon salad tonight with coleslaw and garlic ciabetta.

Itsmeamandaberry · 19/11/2024 21:14

@Neurodiversitydoctor we have chicken most nights. The only time we don't if it's an "on toast" dinner (tonight I had cheese in toast) or a freezer tea ie pizza or fish fingers.

I don't want to eat pluses and I hate the texture of beans.
