It's the Friday before Christmas (mad Friday) in 1994. What are you upto?!

I have just picked my mail up for the week as I have been on Holiday and I been sent a medical appointment through for a mini op on 'mad Friday' which will lead me to spending the eve in my pjs it got me thinking.

In 1994 I'd have knocked off work at lunch time - I would have gone with my mates Angie and Fiona who I worked with to the bars near my work and we would be firmly on the 'lash'.

I'd probably have got changed in the toilets at work into something I might be able to fit one leg into now 😆 probably some sort of black Mini dress.

This would be the last Christmas of singledom before I met my husband the following summer and I probably won't spend much that night!

Excitedly waiting for my grandparents to arrive. Complaining to mum that I had to wear a dress on Christmas Day (had to dress up for church) bugging my older brother and being bugged by my younger brother. I was 9.

I was a child. I hated Christmas as a child so I've blocked out the memories tbh.

Absolutely love Christmas as an adult - the joys of building a life for yourself that you love!

Probably finishing up working at a nursery before going home to feed my 15 year old (hoping he had washed up the breakfast things before going to school in the morning).

Then out to my pub job in the evening, it would have been quieter as it was a squaddie pub and most if them would be making it home that day, so we would have been left with the ones on duty over Christmas.

Onto a club ( town bar staff got in free after midnight) for a couple of hours dancing then home to get up at 9 in the morning to got back to being a single mum again.

I can’t be sure it was actually 1994, but sitting in a crowded shoe shop in Meadowhall with 4 young children, because my DH decided it would be a good day to get them all new trainers for Christmas

Actually this might not be very far off that date. I am the blonde one Grin

Sad and depressed because of the breakup with my fiancé. Remembering the last Christmas we spent together.

Breaking up from my first term of teacher training, school placement so probably wondering what the hell I'd got myself into. Would have had any number of Christmas cards from the kids. Would be probably planning going out with my University mates and boyfriend to celebrate before we all vanished off for the break, after I got back from my evening cleaning job.

Went out on the lash in local town as just broke up from 1st year Uni. (Now if it was 1995 - I was also on the lash but it was the night I first met now DH...I hadn't realised we are coming up on 29 years together already!).
