You can only have one choice!

Roses
Heroes
Celebrations
Quality Street

If you only eat chocolate handmade by angels, this is probably not for you ...

I don't buy any of them as they're all shite but if pushed id go for the celebrations...then I'd eat all the malteasers then give the rest away 😜 cant resist those malty beauts

xyz111 · 02/11/2024 19:51

@MorrisZapp I'll send you ours. I always think they also have a weird smell?? It's so bizarre as I love a full size one 😂

MorrisZapp · 02/11/2024 19:59

The coffee creme (NOT cream) in Quality Street is only back in Waitrose and John Lewis. They have all sorts of sizes from crackers to a big bag 😋😋😋

I like the tin this year

That is pretty, albeit 1/3 the size that was useful as a cake tin or a sewing box the rest of the year!

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 02/11/2024 20:23

A lot of people saying Heroes. I've a big tub someone gave me for my birthday and I wish they'd given me Quality Street or Celebrations!

I think QS has my faves but also my least favourites. I could eat the mini Snickers all day though.

AdoraBell · 02/11/2024 20:25

Quality Street here

Quality Street build your own tin. More expensive but worth it. Last year I had a ln entire tub of green triangles. Also like the orange and strawberry creams.

Wish I could find tubs that have coffee creams. No one seems to do them these days....

How do you buy a build your own tin? Could I get one without toffees? (Problem teeth)

Roses - strawberry cream
Celebrations - galaxy caramel
Heroes - creme egg twist
Quality Steeet - purple one

Edit: think I misunderstood the OP, I thought you could have one sweet from each tub.

Edited

The purple ones are rubbish now!

What I wouldn't give for a box of 1970s Black Magic (wistful)

Out of that list, Heroes.

I have a an empty box from that era with sewing stuff in (came from my nan) and yes they were all my faves growing up. I bought a box from Asda last year and they were disgusting.

Neapolitans! Bring them back pronto!

Yes to this!

I was looking at them in Fortnums the other day, but would need to sell a child or two to justify buying them.

Heroes.

I like roses. A couple of years ago dh bought me a tin from Sainsbury. It was a retro full size tin, perfect for keeping my christmas cake in. They had the right wrappers too.
No idea why I've quoted someone.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 02/11/2024 16:39

Heroes always! 😋

Though celebrations are a close second for the malteaser bites alone 😏

Absolutely this

You can get larger ones

Pineapplewaves · 02/11/2024 21:14

Hero's

herbetta · 02/11/2024 21:26

Roses circa the Marzipan ones 🥳

Angrymum22 · 02/11/2024 21:42

Quality Street because they are unchanged.

JustAnonymous · 02/11/2024 22:03

Celebrations, although Heroes are a close second. Can't stand Quality Street and there's too many in Roses I'm not keen on.

HumerousHumous · 02/11/2024 23:57

John Lewis Pick 'n' Mix Stations in store are back and you can also order online from the QS store.

I just saw QS coffee cremes are back! Hooray!

Comefromaway · 03/11/2024 00:00

Celebrations.

They've removed my favourites from Quality Street, I can’t stand all the soft centres in Roses & Cadbury chocolate is a bit meh.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 03/11/2024 00:26

Do you know why Quality Street is so called?

It’s a play written by JM Barrie. It was hugely popular in its day. It is a love story about a soldier and young woman set during the Napoleonic wars. It was a massive hit. So much so that when the two stars, who were actually married, moved to a road in Surrey they renamed the street Quality Street. There was much merchandise available but the most popular was a box of chocolates. The old tins that many of us remember from our childhood featured scenes from the play.

peachgreen · 03/11/2024 00:28

Quality Street
Roses
Celebrations
Heroes

in that order. The difference is massive though. Delighted by a tub of Quality Street. Roses are good. Could take or leave Celebrations. Heroes are mostly rank.

I've just found out that roses don't have Brazilian Darkness any more.
What is going on?

ooh yeah! they were THE BEST!

EveryOtherNameTaken · 03/11/2024 00:40

Quality Street.
