Brief Encounter, made in 1945. Directed by the brilliant David Lean, and adapted from a one act play, Still Lives, by Noel Coward. Filmed largely at Carnforth Station, it's so atmospheric. Always makes me cry.

We love a good musical. Just watched The King and I. Obviously either DD being a teenager we talked about all the racism and sexism! Cracking tunes though.
