DH's taxi will be collecting him at 2am. He's off back to sea for 12 weeks 🥲

No point sleeping until he's gone. So I'm watching MAFS UK whilst he's in the shower and packing up the last few little bits

I have a pretty busy day tomorrow so hoping once he's left I can get some sleep, I'm always sad when he goes though. This time home we got married and went on honeymoon 😁

High winds here keeping me up last hour. Hoping they dye down soon :(

NomNomNominativeDeterminism · 21/10/2024 01:48

Congratulations on your wedding! It must be very hard to see him go OP. Look forward to that Christmas meeting. That’s practically a film script in embryo.

I’ve been working, trying to catch up after being ill. Got a snotty email from my boss which has really annoyed me. I told my mother I was going to see Young Musician of the Year on catch-up as I couldn’t watch it as broadcast earlier this evening … she kindly texted me all about who won and what they played. Like, spoiler alert thanks mum!

Now I’m putting off going to bed in order to put off: not being able to sleep for annoyance at boss, and feeling awful tomorrow morning due to lack of sleep, and having to deal with issue with boss, and all the other ridiculous things which will happen at work.

Why is he going to sea for 12 weeks? he doesn’t have to he is choosing to do that

I assume he's in the Navy and therefore it's his job. So he does sort of have to.

JoanThursday · 21/10/2024 02:59

I came to bed very early and fell asleep almost immediately. Now been awake since 12.15am worrying about work and husband is beside me snoring very loudly. Grr.

NeverHadHaveHas · 21/10/2024 03:01

Waiting for a slice of pizza at Disney world broadwalk!

biiiigbday · 21/10/2024 03:12

4 Yr old DC has just snuck into my Bed with a high temp and cough. Have a feeling it will be Covid and I'll be taking the day off Work tomorrow!

WiserOlderElf · 21/10/2024 03:21

Autistic child having one of his nights where he literally doesn’t sleep at all. Second night in a row. I’m on my knees with exhaustion.

Don’t think he’s going on holiday!

scarfaced · 21/10/2024 03:22

Woke up because I need a wee and I can’t be bothered to get out of bed and actually go!

Parky04 · 21/10/2024 03:36

Yep. Just waiting for my friend to take us to the airport. We are off to Tallinn and then to Riga on Thursday.

TigerJoy · 21/10/2024 03:36

I'm awake for no good reason

10 week old finally went to sleep at 12am. He's in the next to me crib. He kept waking for the first 2 hours and waking me up too, presumably my body has decided it's no use trying to sleep. I'm also hungry (breastfeeding).

Trying to decide whether to sneak downstairs for a snack or attempt sleep again.

Husband has gone away with work until Wednesday night so I'm solo parenting til then and DESPERATELT need to sleep now...any tips appreciated...

Lozza70 · 21/10/2024 03:36

Coughing myself awake. Been ill for over two weeks now and just cannot manage a whole night without a cough waking me. Have to be up at 6.15 to get ready for work. Going to be shattered.

Flowers90 · 21/10/2024 03:40

Up with my 10 month old. Went back fo work 5 weeks ago. Have just worked the weekend, baby woke at 1:12 and hasn't settled properly since.

SecretHappiness · 21/10/2024 03:45

Pregnant, woken up by a strange dream and also reflux + indigestion and can’t get back to sleep. So tired 😭

Goodbyes must be tough @MessyNeate. Sending a hug x

Crazycactuslady · 21/10/2024 03:47

My house flooded at high tide 😑 again 🙄

seaduck · 21/10/2024 03:54

4 year old just vomited, now asleep next to me so I'm wide awake waiting with a bowl to see if there's more 😫. She'd been awake 2 hours before complaining of headache, tummy ache and 2 hours later we found out why. Sooo tired.

Thommasina · 21/10/2024 04:05

I have covid and woke up with a fever. Have just taken 2 paracetamol. Feeling anxious because symptoms started on Friday and with any normal illness I'd be on the mend by now, but this is still going strong. I have so much to do this week and just laying here worrying.

I only tested because I found an old kit. I didn't have it first time around! I pride myself on rarely getting ill, but wow, this has floored me.

Comforting to know others are out there!

TinglyandCurious · 21/10/2024 04:12

@Thommasina sending a handhold. Covid here too, started Friday, still feverish and have moved into dodgy tummy phase. I’m a bit scared this time too as normally bat virus’ away pretty quickly. I’m a NHS worker so forced to take some time off now which is a relief in some ways. Really hope you feel better soon x

Berlinlover · 21/10/2024 04:12

I’m in a hospital ward with someone snoring like a foghorn. Earplugs don’t work, noise cancelling headphones do work but are too uncomfortable to sleep when wearing. I’m having surgery in the morning and could really have done with even a couple of hours sleep.

sashh · 21/10/2024 04:14

I'm often awake at this time. I run a virtual café for other insomniacs.

MagentaRocks · 21/10/2024 04:15

I'm at work - police control room but would probably be awake still if I was at home as usually still awake into the early hours.

LostittoBostik · 21/10/2024 04:15

DH tossing and turning, aching joints (perimenopause probably, plus definitely Achilles issues which I need to address). Plus 4yo woke up at 3am and I've only just got her back to sleep.

I'm tempted to stay up now to be honest. Only had three hours of sleep but I've got a big work day so might as well just up and get on with it soon
