I think the house next door might be in a bit of a state too. Look at the upstairs window of the house next door on the first photo.

Wallawallakoala · 13/10/2024 22:25

Is it drawn on the wall??

It looks like it! It doesn't look solid enough to be real

Am I seeing things? Property photo

Had a nosy on street view. Could be the angle, but the front of next door looks like it’s about to fall off!

Don't know about the tap but I see a blank canvas awaiting my creative touch. Obviously.

Garlicbest · 13/10/2024 23:04

I think it's probably a hole in the plaster, which happens to look like a tap.

I love seeing dead houses brought back to life, but this and another one in the same area are asking ca 120k. Similar houses in reasonable condition are going for 170k, and you'd need to spend at least 50k bringing this one up to scratch.

What's happening in Nantwich?
This one's got a washbasin in the living room. I thought no, it can't be but it's on the floorplan.

This one makes me feel really sad.
Like an older person has had to go into a home or something.
Looks like it was once a loved home.

Looks like it's been added for someone with mobility issues and they were using that room as a bedroom and washing in there too.

It's definitely a tap!
I zoomed in on a laptop it's a tap but placed in such a bizarre place.

CarpeVitam · 13/10/2024 23:08

Is it a water stopcock, in a daft place? 🤨

I think that’s what it could be brought up to. If you click on the photo to see the whole thing, there is another arrow on “1” 🤣

Probably mobility issues as PP said but I know some older homes like my mums had sinks in bedrooms too. OP, you need to start a business recommending these homes to builders. I've shown my DH who is a builder and he's already given a full plan on how he would fix the first one! He said it needs to be demolished first 😂

This is the house next door. Also in a state.

Pretty sure that one’s haunted. Picture 12 tells you all you need to know.

MrsPositivity1 · 13/10/2024 23:14

Stopcock?

GanderingGoose · 13/10/2024 23:28

Is that an urn in picture 12? Or do you mean the portraits?

widelegenes · 13/10/2024 23:39

Littletreefrog · 13/10/2024 22:28

Yep looks like a tap but really think that's the least of your problems if you buy this house.

Yeah. "We need to discuss lowering the price cos of the tap"!

Saschka · 13/10/2024 23:44

wulves · 13/10/2024 22:23

This estate agent is something else…

’Hey there! Looking for a diamond in the rough? Well, have I got something for you! Let me paint you a picture of this 2-bedroom end of terrace house that’s just bursting with potential.’

What else can the EA say?

“Derelict husk for sale. Will need £200-300k spent on renovation. Similar houses in the area in a good state of repair go for about £50k above the asking price of this one, so whoever buys this is going to make a six-figure loss.

Obviously there’s no chain, as the place is uninhabitable, and it’s suitable for cash buyers only as it’s unmortgagable.

If you have £300k in your back pocket and no financial sense, come and view it. You could sink years of your life into this property, and you’ll still only end up with an entirely unremarkable two bedroom terraced house in Nantwich”.

EconomyClassRockstar · 13/10/2024 23:49

Was this an area that got bombed in WW2 because the way the terrace ends looks so weird? Not that that is as big an issue as the actual house obviously!

pinkgown · 13/10/2024 23:49

Wouldn't buy anything in Nantwich, considering the subsidence because of the salt mines.

Wibblywobblybobbly · 13/10/2024 23:51

I don't know the area at all, but what's a 1700sqfr 4 bed worth? I wonder if someone will buy both and knock them through.

Interesting they're both coming to the market at the same time.
