Looking for inspiration for hobbies that I can do at home apart from baking and reading as I do those already. I like crafty things BUT I am rubbish at them and can't think of them from my own head, I do sometimes recreate very basic things from a video. Can you tell me your hobbies that you do at home?Smile

Felting. I get kits and make little felted animals as stocking fillers, gifts for the kids, little gifts for friends, etc. Very easy to do!

Reading is my favourite at home hobby. I inhale books! Love playing with and cuddling our cat too but that's not really a hobby as she's a full member of our family!

Most of my hobbies are outside, but I e joy baking bread and trying out new recipes when the weather is grim.

Darkroom equipment is very cheap these days, people often give it away, you need a room that can be made light tight, an enlarger, three developing trays, a developing tank for film, a red safelight and the chemicals.

The equipment can be big professional kit like I now use, having got the space, or small portable stuff you pack away.

Old film SLR cameras can be had cheaply too, there are lots of videos, websites and books that describe the process, its easy once you get the hang of it.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, sounds like a cool hobby!

I usually have a little selection of hobby-style projects - current one is lavender sachets. We have a lot of lavender, I've collected the heads and will be making sachets to go in with my wool stuff to keep the moths at bay! They last a ridiculously long time, ones from 8 years ago are still going strong but I wanted some more. I have a few sewing projects, a little painting job. That kind of thing. Then it's just the usual games and reading.

My main one is cooking. If you're already baking, you're half way there. I start off by following recipes & then work out tweaks that make them taste different, but still delicious.
I also upcycle clothes eg: making a loose-fitting blouse fitted by adding darts.
I keep meaning to continue rag rugging, having learned how to at a workshop. It's very easy, has a minimum amount of equipment (hessian/rug base & rugging hook). I like that you can recycle old clothes such as past-it T shirts. Cut them into thin strips & make something useful out of them - who doesn't need a rug?
I also wish I'd bought some tiny cross stitch kits I saw in Flying Tiger at the weekend. They were cheap, looked eminently doable and made Christmas tree decorations.

I’m a home body. I enjoy reading, crocheting, gardening, cooking while listening to audiobooks, and exercising by watching a YouTube tutorial

Sorting old family photos 😂After my grandma's passing I took a ton of old photo albums at my place and now I'm going through them slowly and try to make connections between faces and names. Some of them are pretty damaged, so I'm also repairing and reprinting them, because I want to preserve most of them, it's family history, after all.
Also if you're in a similar situation now, here is a great article on what to do with old family photos and you can use Photoworks or Photoshop to repair old pictures. These guides helped me tremendously.
