How many slices of halloumi?

If you were served grilled halloumi as part of a main meal (it being the main protein) how many slices would you serve and adult?

So like, halloumi, salad and wraps.

I'm talking the standard size packets (220-250g) , all sliced to around half a cm thick.

Since there was a massive salad, you'll be stuffed for the next week

I could only manage half on olive. The halloumi I threw away.

OMG! That looks totally amazing.

I have to buck the trend here and say it would be as little as possible for me! I cannot stand the stuff! But that does mean there is more for everyone else.

For context, we are a 'magic MN chicken' household where a whole roast chicken lasts at least 3 dinners for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 sporty upper Primary DCs). We use 2 packs of halloumi for 1 dinner, although for a tray bake, 1.5 would be fine if it didn't result in 1/2 a pack then going dry in the fridge. I would rather gorge on the extra than see it waste (because I have yet to see a recipe that can reasonably stretch the leftover 1/2 pack between us). If it is served topping the plate of food, it is definitely 2 packs between 4.

The limit does not exist 🤤

I could easily eat the whole pack...it's so delicious fried in butter or oil - but that would just be greedy 😋😉😃

I like you

We always have 2 packs between 4 of us. And I'd happily eat more.

Moonshiners · 03/10/2024 23:14

We do 2 packs between 6 adults. So 3 per pack.
They would it more but we have it quite regularly and it's really salty and fatty!

Well, if it's with loads of other stuff as OP describes, as part of something akin to meze, then you'd have less. I had lunch with a friend today- she pan-fried a whole pack of halloumi between the 2 of us, but there were also falafels and houmous, so we didn't finish the halloumi.

Didn't finish the halloumi! 😲🤯

I know right 😆
By the way, massive digression but I love your user name, having just spent the last month working on a building site with dozens of builders coming and going, a grand total of ONE of which was another woman 🤔

Did you have to keep asking for the key to the toilets? :P

3 slices but I find it a bit hard to digest. I like it how I had it in Lebanon, cut in fat sticks instead of slices and hot sauce on the side.

Luckily it was adjacent to some fairly decent public toilets. I worked in a big boatyard some months ago that now has a healthy trickle of women in overalls, and the key code to the ladies was passed down verbally from dusty sister to dusty sister 😆
