I was inspired by another thread and bought some nice meals from M&S....gammon steaks, breaded chicken and meatballs in sauce.....

Anyway I've been working since and only noticed they aren't in the fridge....so I just checked the car and they were in a plastic bag in the backseat....AARRRGGHHHH

I bought them on Monday 5ish, its now Wednesday 8ish, its cold here in Glasgow but not freezing yet....

Would you eat or bin?

Im tempted to eat, I never buy markies stuff its EXPENSIVE 😣😣😣

Bin

RaininSummer · 02/10/2024 20:37

I think I would bin as cars get warm in even a little sun and not worth the risk. Very annoying though.

Drivingoverlemons · 02/10/2024 20:37

I would bin it. Too long. Not cold enough.

Nah if was 16 degrees in Glasgow today! I put the aircon on driving home from work at 5pm. Bin for sure, your car will have been roasting

Nameftgigb · 02/10/2024 20:38

Bin for me and I have pretty low standards when it comes to out of date food

UpUpUpU · 02/10/2024 20:40

I am Very lax with food safety but ai would bin them. Sorry, such a waste

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 02/10/2024 20:40

I’d probably bin - weak tummy. DH would sniff and cook it all, but not fridge it.

Ohreally01 · 02/10/2024 20:41

Bin I’m afraid.

mynameiscalypso · 02/10/2024 20:46

I'd bin. If I was going to pick one to eat, I'd pick the gammon but even that would be pushing it for me.

GinForBreakfast · 02/10/2024 20:47

I'd cook it well and eat it. Masses of preservatives in that stuff.

I'm nails.

ssd · 02/10/2024 21:08

Id bin it very grudgingly, dh says he'll eat it.....

Bin

kitsuneghost · 02/10/2024 21:12

Bin. Glasgow has been really sunny so would get quite warm in the car.

pizzaHeart · 02/10/2024 21:13

Bin.
I had this a couple of times - always binned.

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 02/10/2024 21:17

Bin. If your car was in the sun at all it will have got quite warm

Whydoeslifesuck · 02/10/2024 21:39

I have really low standards with stuff like this, but I'm afraid it's the bin from me. 2 hours, fine; 2 days is absolutely beyond it.

Whothefuckdoesthat · 02/10/2024 22:04

I have very low standards but that would be straight in the bin. If your DH is determined to eat it, how many toilets are in your house and is he a noisy vomiter?

ssd · 02/10/2024 23:13

We only have one loo. I'll bin it.

Sad

Bin

It’s 16 degrees here in Belfast today but the car was sitting in the sun and very warm inside. You’d be mad to even contemplate eating meat that hasn’t been in the fridge for 2 days.

wavingfuriously · 02/10/2024 23:17

have you got any visiting foxes ? it wouldn't hurt them and theyre always hungry

clary · 02/10/2024 23:26

Yeh sorry @ssd I am pretty lax about some of the stuff I see ppl clutching pearls about on MN – would eat casserole left on kitchen top overnight, leave my sandwiches at room temp on my desk all morning and the like – but even I would bin meat that had been on the back seat of my car for two days.

Ivehearditbothways · 02/10/2024 23:28

I’m in Glasgow. It has not been cold enough. Bin it.

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/10/2024 23:31

Healthy adults, I’d blast in oven or microwave and eat . Anyone else, frail, elderly or kids, bin.

MumChp · 02/10/2024 23:33

Bin.
