I was inspired by another thread and bought some nice meals from M&S....gammon steaks, breaded chicken and meatballs in sauce.....

Anyway I've been working since and only noticed they aren't in the fridge....so I just checked the car and they were in a plastic bag in the backseat....AARRRGGHHHH

I bought them on Monday 5ish, its now Wednesday 8ish, its cold here in Glasgow but not freezing yet....

Would you eat or bin?

Im tempted to eat, I never buy markies stuff its EXPENSIVE 😣😣😣

Just open and smell it. You will know immediately to bin!

"have you got any visiting foxes ? it wouldn't hurt them and theyre always hungry"

Bloody things. Don't feed the foxes 🦊

Definitely bin it. The inside of a car can warm up quite a bit in the sun, even if it's only 5 degrees out.

You can't be serious.

ElizaMulvil · 03/10/2024 00:47

I was going to say bin but then remembered pre fridge days we used to have a meat safe ie cupboard with metal mesh sides to keep out flies. I'm sure we didn't buy fresh every day so presumably we ate 2 day old meat with no
problems. Also as someone said above, smell it you'll know if it's off.

This is not true and I'm sick of reading it. Just because food smells okay does not mean it's safe to eat. Just because you kill the bacteria doesn't mean the toxins they've produced have been removed or that the food is now magically safe to eat.

I came to say this exact thing. People really don’t understand food hygiene, and safe storage. No wonder people get sickness all the time.

Livinginaclock · 03/10/2024 00:58

Sniff, and then eat.

DiscoBeat · 03/10/2024 01:01

I wouldn't eat it! Or feed it to the foxes. I do sometimes give them meat if it goes out of date by a day though.

FuckingCheek · 03/10/2024 01:53

Just bin it, you don't want to get sick

Can't believe you were considering it enough to even ask.

The price difference really isn’t that great to risk giving yourself explosive D&V.. 😬

ssd · 03/10/2024 19:42

"This isn't any old D&V, this is Marks and Spencer D&V"

It's all out in the bin Smile
