If anyone is thinking of getting a tattoo but is nervous - do it

I've had a tattoo booked for 3 months. Could t sleep last night with nerves and nearly cancelled it this morning

However I donned my big girl pants and went for it and it was absolutely fine, I don't know what I was worried about so if anyone is wanting one but too scared/nervous - do it 😁

I had my tattoo nearly 40 years ago. I liked it for the first few years, but now It's the worst thing I ever did to myself. I'm embarrassed about it and I hate them now.

I got a lot of tattoos in my teens, 20s and very early 30s.

I'm in my 40s now and HATE every one of them

I'm in my 40s and just got my fifth. My first was when I was 19. I don't regret any of them.

The one I got first is admittedly my least favourite now, but I get genuine pleasure every time I look at my ink. They will have given me many, many years of enjoyment by the time I'm wrinkly.

What a weird question. You are asking someone to explain why they think artwork is cool? Art is subjective! That's the posters opinion!

I've 2 tattoos, planning a 3rd. All have meaning to me. I look forward to them being wrinkly and explaining the meaning of them to people who come into my life in the future.

Why is it a weird question ? Most of the tattoos I see on people I know, including my DP who has 3 fading certainly not cool ones, are generic tiny flowers on shoulder or finger, huge coloured quasi goth things or celtic sleeves. I don’t think any of it is ground breaking art. It certainly might have personal meaning but is past the point of being cool or edgy nowadays. But then again you do you.
And tbf I don’t think folk in years to come people will be that bothered about your tat. Ten a Penny nowadays.

It's kind of addictive

It really is.

I would never put ink into my body. Just not natural.

The only ones I love are Maori ones. They rest look awful.

Cos you gonna end up with wrinkly skin and then what?!

My skin would be wrinkly?

I can't wait to be the illustrated OAP

Who said anything about edgy or ground breaking? Are we only allowed art that's those things? Or can we choose something because it's pretty, is that also ok?

🙄

Good on you OP, ignore the haters 🖤
I want some but not started yet
I just know if I'd got any when young I'd be regretting them as the art was shitter and my choices different to who I am now.
I can't wait to see our generation of OAPs!
