Er, my armpits smell really funky for the past few days? Despite showering

I literally spent 15 minutes cleaning them and scrubbing them yesterday evening in the shower. I applied Mitchum roll-on deodorant before I went to bed. This morning I woke up and there's a funky smell again?! Not sure what to do? Kind of like stale BO :/

This happened to me when I started putting fresh turmeric in my morning juice 😂

OK, I just showered using dettol antibacterial soap and the whiff finally seems totally gone. Will see how it is in the morning but that seems to have made such a difference! Literally when you wash it away it feels so different to shower gel. The skin actually feels totally clean and no oils left.

I still smell completely fresh, despite lounging around in bed a lot on my day off. Seriously so impressed at this simple fix. Now I'm feeling quite grossed out knowing that I've not used actual SOAP in years and all the bacteria that was probably lurking on my skin. 😫

USE SOAP EVERYONE

mind blowing isn't it, glad it's working OP.

That's good news OP. I'm the only one in my family that uses bar soap (shield) as I don't feel like shower gel gets me clean, it's almost as though it puts a layer onto me instead of off.

@FairTurtle I think there's a lot of advice here that is really good. Great thread. The main thing that causes smell is bacteria on the skin mixing with fat in your sweat. So things to look for.

  1. Changes in your diet.
  2. Soap (lots have mentioned already) shower gels don't always effectively kill bacteria
  3. Change in hormones.
  4. Deodorant can become inefficient. If you've been using mitcham for a while, its ability to kill bacteria might just be waning. So switching your deodorant could be a big help.
  5. synthetic clothing (holds on to bacteria and doesn't wash out easily)

How. do i know? I went through the same exact thing. I changed my soap, at a little less red meat, and switched to a different deodorant (Rubb Deodorant is what I use)

Hopefully that's helpful. Good luck

Iron your regular clothes inside the armpits also helps! Over Christmas dd bought her tshirts home so I could really wash them (she uses a poor launderette that doesn't get them clean enough) and I ironed all her armpits it really helped extend her work clothes life cycle
