Raw mince out of fridge for 24 hours: cook or chuck?

Per the title...bought it yesterday in passing whilst out shopping for other things. Shoved it in my handbag and promptly forgot about it. Just discovered it now about 24 hours after purchase. Would you eat it? I'm thinking I either cook it immediately or chuck it, seems not worth putting in the fridge at this point.

It's mixed beef and pork mince if that makes a difference?

Definitely bin!

urbanbuddha · 22/09/2024 18:02

Smell it.

Crazycat53 · 22/09/2024 18:11

Definitely chuck it

Tryingtokeepgoing · 22/09/2024 18:18

Unless It’s been particularly cold where you are I’d be binning that. Though I am intrigued at the idea of having a packet of mince in a handbag in the first place!!

Radiatorvalves · 22/09/2024 18:27

Smell and take a view.

veritasverity · 22/09/2024 18:28

Depends how cold it's been with you. If it's been cool, package isn't bloated and doesn't smell I'd cook it, but cook it well. If it's been warm, bloated and even slightly smelly I'd cook it up for my dog or chuck it.

User19876536484 · 22/09/2024 18:29

If it smelled ok I’d eat it. Not raw though.

BMW6 · 22/09/2024 18:31

Use your nose. If you decide to cook it make sure it's thoroughly cooked.

llamali · 22/09/2024 18:31

That's disgusting you also need to clean your handbag

outdamnedspots · 22/09/2024 18:32

In your handbag??!

Bin it.

outdamnedspots · 22/09/2024 18:33

And remember, people, you can't smell or see the bacteria that cause food poisoning!

AgileGreenSeal · 22/09/2024 18:34

If in doubt
throw it out

Viviennemary · 22/09/2024 18:35

Absolutely not.

thehungryteacher · 22/09/2024 18:35

No bin

thehungryteacher · 22/09/2024 18:36

And I eat anything

Often had a packet of mints in my handbag, not managed a packet of mince yet 😬

Thevelvelletes · 22/09/2024 19:05

Bin it not worth getting ill for the price of a packet of mince.

MingingTiles · 22/09/2024 19:06

I’m generally very relaxed but I would definitely bin it.

Assuming it was in a packet why would you need to clean the handbag 🤣

bifurCAT · 22/09/2024 19:47

If your house is 37 degrees, no, otherwise, still no.
