How would you wrap this gift?

I’m sorting out and wrapping DH’s 40th birthday birthday presents. They’re mostly events and things to do rather than physical things so it’s a bit crap that it’s mainly just pieces of paper saying stuff that he/ we are going to do. I’ve come up with some inventive ways of wrapping things but am a bit stumped on a rare whiskey tasting that we’re doing, he already knows that we’re going to a gig on that day but this is before? Any ingenious suggestions?

I know the obvious thing would be to get a bottle of whisky and wrap a note with it but I don’t want to spend anymore.

Buy a whisky miniature instead and put the voucher around it. Then wrap it.

ThisHangryPinkBalonz · 21/09/2024 12:03

I would do a treasure hunt in the house with clues and mini gifts related to the events😂

Enko · 21/09/2024 12:03

A photo frame with it inside so you can add a photo from the day later?

Still spending but cheaper… whiskey glass or stones? Or whiskey flavoured chocolates? Or wrap a whisk 🤣

poppyzbrite4 · 21/09/2024 12:30

I'd be happy just receiving the presents and wouldn't care about ingenious gift wrapping.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 21/09/2024 12:32

Cut out a whisky bottle from cardboard and clip the voucher to it?

Good for you, my DH would appreciate it especially as he’ll be letting our 1 and 3 year old help him unwrap.

Whisky stones and glass were a successful present a few years ago or I would have gone with that!

Then you should have explained that in the OP, rather than finding ways for a grown man to unwrap presents.

That’s a great idea but we’ve got one of those digital frames so it wouldn’t be used. We’re moving soon so trying to declutter a bit.

Pass the parcel style boxes with each one containing a sip of paper with what the gift is gift on and the final box containing all the relevant vouchers etc.

I thought most people would have the sense to assume that I know my DH would like it. Otherwise I wouldn’t waste my time. But I guess not 🤷‍♀️

I’d wrap stuff like this with a bar of chocolate or similar

ZanyPombear · 21/09/2024 12:38

Well I think you’ve got him enough

Some people have better things to do. Enjoy yourself.

Make the invitation into an origami bottle.

Cool comeback dude. Go and get some fresh air.

Whisky chocolates? Pop voucher on top then wrap.

Please wrap a kitchen whisk 😂Then watch the look of relief when you explain. Plus you also have a whisk which is useful.

When I did a special experience for my dad, I composed a crossword puzzle that spelled out the occasion when all the clues were added.

Tiredforfive45 · 21/09/2024 12:55

You can buy scratch cards on Etsy that reveal the gift underneath. I’ve done this a few times for ‘experience’ gifts. I stick them on top of an empty box so there is still something to open!

You can open up cereal boxes and reseal them inside out to have a plain box!
