If you had to choose between netflix, prime or something else?

What would you choose? We have netflix, but ds reckons he has seen everything on it that he is interested in. Id rather delete it and get something else rather than just get more, but I don't know if the others are as good

Prime is a pile of crap. My sister pays for a subscription and I have her log-ins, I wouldn't pay for it myself lol. Now Disney plus I could not do without!

MiddleagedBeachbum · 08/09/2024 08:52

We use lookmovie2.to and pay the subscription - it has everything - literally everything!

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 08/09/2024 08:56

Disney + is good. We’ve also suspended Netflix after going over a month with no one logging on. We have prime but won’t renew.

Disney Plus. It's has some solid series. Easy to use too.

I often stop Netflix, I buy the £10.99 one as I don't want adverts, I don't purchase it with Sky as it is only 50p cheaper and much harder to cancel for a month or two, you have to ring Sky to do this.

ThomasPatrickKeatingsDegas · 08/09/2024 09:07

Apple probably

TaylorSwish · 08/09/2024 09:13

Can you get the £5 version of Netflix and Disney? Then you would have both for £10 a month. You have to watch ads but you do get a huge amount of choice of things to watch.

redgum · 08/09/2024 09:21

Prime is def the lowest one, though I have it because I use the delivery element most! I wish they'd bundle it with music.

It's hard because basically all the good stuff comes out on Disney, Netflix and Apple so I would rotate through them.

I now get Disney via a Lloyds bank account (it's the one with ads, but basically if you pass £2000 through the account every month, doesn't need to stay there, you get it free) I now get Apple for free through my Barclays account, so I am just paying for Netflix via Sky which I assume is a reduced rate but I'm not sure tbh.

Solonga · 08/09/2024 09:42

Netflix with Sky is 50p cheaper but much more bother to stop and start so really only for those that pay every month for it.

redgum · 08/09/2024 09:49

Ah ok, I never stop Netflix, it's the one my kids like the most even above Disney (boys, they like the manga etc!)

Verbena17 · 08/09/2024 09:51

We have Prime and Netflix and feel that’s plenty of everything we need. We also buy movies from Apple TV.
We purchase a lot of stuff next day from Amazon and so have to have prime for that anyway.

I think I mostly watch more Netflix than Prime.
We don’t have Sky and barely watch terrestrial channels.

whiteroseredrose · 08/09/2024 09:52

We have Amazon and Netflix and DD has Disney. All are hangovers from decisions made years ago.

We have Amazon for the deliveries and photo storage; there are ads on what we watch now so rarely watch anything.

We have tried DD's Disney and found nothing we wanted to watch.

There are things on Netflix we like but ended up with ads on there too I think.

In reality we mainly watch BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and Channel 4's equivalent.

So it's time for a review. Maybe Netflix and Disney should just go.

Q124 · 08/09/2024 09:52

I only have Sky!

Delphigirl · 08/09/2024 09:55

I almost never watch prime. If I find anything I like it is often to rent which gives me the rage. I only really keep it for free Amazon deliveries which I def get fair value from. I watch Netflix a lot. I think I would watch more Apple TV but we only get free subscriptions every so often so I forget to look at it when we do.

Incakewetrust · 08/09/2024 09:55

Prime is trash. A lot of the content isn't included in the subscription and you have to pay extra PLUS there are adverts. I avoid it.

We use a mixture of Netflix and Disney+

TheDandyLion · 08/09/2024 09:58

Just pay and watch one of them a month at a time.

newnamethanks · 08/09/2024 10:00

I watched The Perfect Couple on Nflix yesterday which was reasonably entertaining, as is Kaos. Prime isn't great but the amount of Amazon deliveries I have makes it worthwhile and there's an occasional surprise. Terrestrial tv has been awful for weeks if you're not a sports fan so I'm keeping both.

newnamethanks · 08/09/2024 10:03

Btw, Disney available at reduced rate if you have an O2 phone.

redgum · 08/09/2024 10:04

Terrestrial tv has been awful for weeks if you're not a sports fan so I'm keeping both.

Tends to go like that over the summer, should improve with autumn programming coming in.

HelenWheels · 08/09/2024 10:36

often watch iplayer and 4 od
going to be ruthless and cancel netflix and disney + although my dc who <<ahem>> dont live at home, do access it so they might notice

SonicTheHodgeheg · 08/09/2024 10:40

I cancel and switch every 3 months so there’s something new to watch by the time I come back to a platform. Sticking to one platform permanently means running out of things to watch where as returning every few months keeps things fresh.

OssieShowman · 08/09/2024 10:44

I am loving Brit Box. Cancelled Disney. Just Netflix and Britbox now.

shuffleofftobuffalo · 08/09/2024 10:46

We cycle through Netflix, now tv (when I get a deal), paramount plus, prime.

Currently have paramount plus on the go. Soon we will have watched it all and will probably go back to Netflix then!

Mittens67 · 08/09/2024 10:49

I used to love britbox which is now under itvx in the uk so I pay for itvx and have britbox plus itv without adverts.
Prime is rubbish, only pay for it for free next day amazon delivery.
Stopped netflix as nothing I like there.

Solonga · 08/09/2024 11:06

Yes I like BritBox and have paid for ITVx premium. Prime TV is really just an add on, the delivery is the main thing you pay for, if I watch anything on Prime, I watched Clarksons Farm recently, I pay to skip the ads for that month
