Last concert - Fontaines DC
Best - ohh toss up between Radiohead in 97’ or Bowie early 2000s.

Dream - I think I’ve ticked most off the list, would liked to have seen The Band back in the day

@PaillettenBedeckt I saw Mogwai last year. They closed with Fear Satan (one of my favourites) and then came back on to do an absolutely blistering My Father, My King as the encore. It really was an incredible experience and I'm hoping they'll go on tour again soon.

I love My Father My King too. So epic! I saw the documentary they did recently and it tells the story of how they wrote it.

I highly recommend watching it if you're a fan.

Last was AC/DC in July.
Best is difficult to say. ABBA, AC/DC, Queen, Motorhead, UFO, Eagles, there are many.
One I would have wanted to see? Beatles, Led Zep.

Robert Plant still goes on tour, I've seen him twice in the last 15 years or so.

He is well worth seeing, even though its not exactly led zeppelin.

Fucketbucket · 06/09/2024 23:21

@Pelicanbriefcase I'm going to see Fontaines DC in December, Really looking forward to it!

I saw him with Alison Krauss. That was pretty amazing. 👍

Where did you watch the documentary? I tried to get tickets but it was only showing in a very small number of cinemas and it doesn't appear to be available online anywhere.

ETgo · 06/09/2024 23:33

Last concert - Blink-182 last week Glasgow Hydro
Best - can't choose between Aerosmith in Vegas! Green Day at Wembley Arena/Blink-182 O2 last year
Dream - Linkin Park with Chester 😢

Think I'll still try and get tickets to Linkin Park on their 2025 world tour but they have a female singer for it 😬

shaniatwainfan · 06/09/2024 23:38

Last: Shania Twain at the O2 last September

Best: Shania Twain, Hyde Park, 2003

Dream: Abba

Huuge Shania fan, but I don't think I'll see her again. Sadly, I think it's time she stopped performing live.

Re Abba, I've seen Abba Voyage, that's the closest I'll ever get I suppose. I so wish I had seen them live!

PoodlesRUs · 06/09/2024 23:39

HiGunny · 06/09/2024 23:17

Last one: Sum 41
Best: The Prodigy back in 1997
Dream: Someone like Fleetwood Mac or Rolling Stones but too late now. Realistically Pulp or Radiohead as I was massive fans of them back in the 90s.

How were Sum 41? Worth the ticket price?

Yeah it was very limited. I saw it in Sheffield. Stuart Braithwaite was supposed to be at the Q&A but his dog was poorly. I've always wanted to meet him but there's always someone that comes up to stop me. Maybe one day!

I briefly spoke to the director and he said it would have a wider release in the future but he couldn't say more. I think it's hush hush for now.

DH is the fan not me but they were actually great! It's their last tour so I guess that added to it. I don't think the tickets were a crazy price where we were (Dublin).

finaGotpaid · 07/09/2024 01:19

Best concert George Michael…Faith tour in 1988 ,most recently Nial Rodgers in Brighton 2023 .Absolutely awesome an absolute legend.

KievLoverTwo · 07/09/2024 01:29

Oh, probably a mate’s band.

Best: Sigur Ros in a tiny little church on release day of Með suð í eyrum við spilum.
I had been waiting years to see them, was at the very front and cried because it was so beautiful.

Honorable mention to Yndi Haldi who don’t tour often and were everything I dreamed they would be live.

The Cure are immensely powerful live, especially during a 12 minute rendition of A Forest.

Dream: I think I have seen all the bands I ever wanted to see and David Bowie is dead so the only dream left is to go to the Mount Fuji Rock Festival and get my ears blown off by the likes of Envy in a breathtaking setting.

Bjork had the biggest talker/idiot ratio of all the gigs I have ever been to and I ended up walking out after half an hour. It was a small venue and I made the mistake of not getting there early enough so was saddled with standing near the bar.
