Dd is nearly 14. Developing normally re boobs and hair etc but no periods yet. I was 12 as was my mum and grandmother so I just assumed she would be. My ILs not here any more so can’t ask them when they started.

I was average height/ weight and started at 13.
dd also average height/ weight - had not started by 15. I looked up ‘when to worry’ on internet, and (3 years ago), the advice was - if no other issues - GP not really concerned until 16.
Think DD started a couple months before 16.

Interesting that the age has come down to 15 since then.

I'm 45 and was hoping I was nearing the end of dealing with periods, going to be annoyed if it's another 15 odd years!

Generally the younger you start the later you finish

Interestingly in 1860, the average age of the onset of puberty in girls was 16.6 years. In 1920, it was 14.6; in 1950, 13.1; 1980, 12.5; and in 2010, it had dropped to 10.5..

It is linked to diet especially sugar and fat consumption with skinny girls more likely to have a later onset of puberty.

My DM stressed about stuff like this and it wasn't helpful. She took me to the GP when I was 15yo, then just a few months after turning 16yo I got my period. The GP suggested medication to bring them on but I said I wanted to leave it to my own body to happen on its own schedule. Glad I trusted my gut instinct! Have hated periods with a passion since! 😒 very painful.

Leave your DD, 14 is still young.

Yes that would make sense - I was very thin, struggled to gain weight in my teens.
