starting with your favourite -

May & June
July & August
April
September
March
October
January
December
November
February

For me this is largely because I love lighter nights, summer, spring.

On the other hand I am not a Christmas fan and dislike November & February as bad weather and boring

There's beauty in nature throughout, and generally I dislike the cold, but the thing I particularly love about each month is written in brackets.

November (panto)
December (Xmas)
March (daffs)
April (tulips)
June (solstice)
May (daylight)
August (holidays)
September (still warm)
January (fresh start. Snow drops.)
October (colour changes)
July (summer vibes)
February (payday comes quick!)

But my favourite season is spring.

Love the summer, hate the winter, except Christmas. November beats the other autumn months because it's ds1's birthday and I do love bonfire night and the run up to Christmas. January is about 3000 days long, February is cold and dark but does at least have half term going for it and is short. September and March are just a bit meh.

I can bear September.

I loathe from October - February and hate the dark nights. My treadmill keeps me sane during these months.

Love the spring and the thought of summer. Like the very hot weather slightly less. Like Christmas but then just want it to be spring again!

AuraBora · 03/09/2024 22:34

Mine are quite mixed up in terms of seasons.

I really love summer (provided its sunny and warm but not boiling hot - but I live near the sea and in a national park so it's easy to keep cool with a swim or heading to woodland for a shady walk).

that said, there are elements of autumn, winter and spring that i like too.

August - big birthday month, holidays, parties, long days, school holidays.

July - often good weather (altho seems less so that in previous years), lots of family birthdays/celebration, lots of summer still ahead.

June - so much going on in the garden and with wildlife. Anticipation of summer. Long days and light evenings.

September - DD bday, often some.new beginnings with new academic year etc.

April - blossom, abudance of nature

December - Christmas, festive season, parties, xmas holiday, crafts, cosy ale in the pub post wintery walk

November- bonfire night, walks, wintery chill in the air

October - autumn leaves/ colous of autumn

January - fresh starts etc

March - DS bday, start of spring

February - urgh.. nothing good to say about it

AuraBora · 03/09/2024 22:35

Said mine were mixed up season-wise but now I posted I see that's not that accurate actually!

PattyDuckface · 03/09/2024 22:36

I love them all really

June is best because of all the flowers and sunshine, and it's high Summer with the lightest nights. Bees, birds, animals, cocktails, warmth

Then July - love Summer. Swimming in the sea

May - so beautiful and hopeful. Cherry blossom and buds.

August - just gorgeous late Summer

October - wonderful Saturday feeling and the beautiful colours as the leaves change. Great time for cooking

December - the fun of Christmas and how excited kids are. Like the deepest dark days and turn inwards, resting in the home, feels ancient and magical

January- love the new year and all the planning and then the weather can be so incredibly cold and clear

February- a loved ones birthday brings fun but this month is great for winter sports

September- mushrooms and being industrious

April- change is in the air. New life, endless possibilities

March - looking forward and backward at the same time

November- eating great food and watching movies

AuraBora · 03/09/2024 22:37

Gah.. missed May! How could i? I do love May. I'd say that goes between July and June. It's a lovley month (not.so much during teen/uni years with all the exams tho)

thekrakenhasgone · 03/09/2024 22:37

June, July, August for the sunny warmth in the South East.
