Is there any such thing as a 7 seater car for 2 children?

That has isofix installation in the 3rd row?

In a nutshell, I have 2 DC that I need to separate. They can’t sit in the front passenger seat.

Both seats are isofix. Is there a 7 seater that would have isofix in the very back or does it not exist? :(

Only other option is a much larger SUV 5 seater, but I don’t think it would be wise in case it doesn’t m separate them enough so they can’t touch each other if they reached across

Also watching this thread with interest, as we’re looking for a new car but one in which the rear passenger seat is far enough back that my DD can’t kick the front passenger in the head.

How old/what weight are your children? Because isofix fittings have a weight limit of 33kg which includes the weight of the child's car seat itself. A Joie spin360 for example weighs 13.9kg and the average 4 year old is 18kg. Obviously different car seats and different children will have different weights but you won't be able to use isofix much beyond the age of 4 or 5 so would only need a car with belted seat options.

Really? My son’s Britax Romer is up to about age 12. It is ISOFIX

Mazda cx9 is a great car and pretty sure it does. You can put up the 3rd row seats separately so use one and keep half a boot.

Sorry I’m probably being really obtuse here! But what do you mean they’d outgrow the 3rd row?

My mum and I have taken the 3rd row of our Mazda cx9 - they are perfectly decent seats, not little kids seats.

Some seats you stop using isofix and use the seatbelt after a certain point. Which seat is it specifically?

Have to admit I wondered about this too. My kids have the Graco Affix isize (age 7 and 5) and it definitely says up to 12 years.

Edited to add, it also says up to 150cm which is probably about age 12-13 ish.

CX-9s aren't officially imported into the UK. It's a shame as they are fab.

As far as I know the Graco Affix uses something called isocatch rather than isofix which is different 😊

We used to take the middle seat out of our scenic or fold it down and put a divider in the middle. You can probably get something specialist but we used to fashion something using secured luggage covered with a cot mattress.

Fair enough, they fit exactly like isofix but could be slightly different!

Seat Alhambra has isofix in all the rear seats (family member with 3 children that they need to separate)
