I’ve got two hrs free in London with dd 15. Was thinking of a pedicure but dont know anywhere suitable/special. Really don’t want to not have anything to do but is last minute- any ideas please to help me!

Taylor swift costumes at the V&A? Depending on where you're bass you might have just enough time.

IDoLikeToBeByTheSea · 23/08/2024 13:48

Where are you and where do you need to end up?

LindorDoubleChoc · 23/08/2024 14:02

Don't you want to see a bit of London rather than get your feet done, which you can do literally anywhere?

Whereabouts will you be specifically?

FanofLeaves · 23/08/2024 14:03

Really depends on where in London you are!

whatsappdoc · 23/08/2024 14:24

Yes, where are you? So many places to mooch for 2 hours!

CharlotteRumpling · 23/08/2024 14:26

Go to Greenwich, walk around the park, visit the Observatory, Maritime Museum, Queens House and other heritage sites, take the Clipper.

I agree you can get a pedicure anywhere; why waste a London day?

whatsappdoc · 23/08/2024 14:26

lol just looked up the meaning of mooch and I don't think that's what I meant! It says scrounging off other people! 😱

Alakazam8 · 23/08/2024 14:34

Yes agreed about pedicure- just wondered if there was anywhere different. We are based around Euston and Elephant really so if there is anywhere round those areas- seen a fair bit of London and will be about 11-1 tomorrow !

Roti King in Euston if you fancy fabulous and authentic Malaysian food, but they always have very long queues and don't take reservations. Worth it though.

Alarae · 23/08/2024 14:56

I would be hitting up various foodie outlets. Some of the London bakeries are amazing.

Head left along the Euston Road to Kings Cross. You then have two options, go and wander around Coals Drop Yard , have a bite to eat and a bit of retail therapy. Or go to the Nature Reserve at Camley Street and chill out. They have a cafe but not sure if it will be open.

Mooch - water about looking at things, facing in shop to goes, maybe having a coffee in a cafe, pottering around, ambling about killing time in a pleasant way.

FourthEdition · 23/08/2024 15:31

Coal Drops Yard by Kings Cross s perfect for teens. Lovely shops cool markets often at the weekend and nice cafes/restaurants.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/08/2024 15:33

Barbie exhibition?
Or is the Naomi Campbell one still on at the V&A?

Misorchid · 23/08/2024 15:33

The British Museum is in that area. Cafe too.

The British Museum is in that area. Cafe too.

Also Wellcome Museum ( cafe, though sadly their better cafe upstairs is closed. Downstairs cafe is crowded with lap toppers)

Foundling Museum ( no cafe)

Thank you to those who pointed out that 'mooch' was correct after all! 😀

King's Cross Coal Drop Yard is great. Word on the Water bookshop very quirky if you like books. Eat drink and people watch. Ditto St. Katharine Docks if you're over the Tower of London way.
Southwark area nice for walking around.

Just moved a couple of hundred miles away and all this talk makes me want to be back!

Alakazam8 · 24/08/2024 09:46

Is coal drop yard outside mainly? It’s likely to be very wet weather unfortunately. Anything close and indoor if coal drop is outside,

Borough Market is not far from the Elephant. You could easily kill 2 hours there and get lunch in at the same time.

DinnaeFashYersel · 24/08/2024 10:01

We bought posh cakes from Harrods and ate them picnic style in Hyde Park with coffee when we had a spare 2 hours on our last visit.

Alakazam8 · 24/08/2024 10:25

Great headed to borough market! Thanks all

Borough market is a good shout. Loads to see and do around London Bridge but obviously weather not great today. Market is covered mostly. Nice eateries around there.
