With a 15 year old , try Flat Iron in London Bridge. Free popcorn to start and ice cream cone when you leave.

Thanks might try there too!

@viques I really miss the top floor cafe at the Wellcome. I hate that bottom one. The Quaver cafe is usually quiet and in a stunning building but I don’t think it would necessarily hold much appeal to a 15 year old.

Quaver cafe is a new one for me, thanks for the tip. I will try it next time I go to the British Library - another place with a serious cafe deficit imo.

I googled out of curiosity and was completely baffled until I realised it was a typo for Quaker. Looks like an absolute godsend, I'll remember it.

Goes along with my other top standbys in the same vein: Methodist Central Hall cafe in Westminster, the Cafe in the Crypt in Trafalgar Square, and the cafe attached to All Hallows By The Tower.

Oh god, sorry! Yes - Quaker! Doh!

You have to walk miles to the loo but get to see the building, which is incredible.

I googled it and still put Quaver! And thought “ oh, that’s a clever, witty bit of marketing!”
