Constipation help

Promise that I am not a troll.

Looking for some advice on getting moving. I've been bunged up for days, stomach is big and I feel sickly.

Posting in chat for traffic. Away for a walk to see if that helps.

Lots of walking except not for a long distance away from a toilet, if you've taken strong laxatives for the next 36hrs

Terrible lesson learned 😳😩. Note, if you're feeling better the next day, don't go for a long walk because things may change very quickly.

Coffee and a cigarette if you are desperate.

I've recently had serious issues with constipation and was back and forth to GP, trues various things but what seems to have got me back on an even keel is 2 sodium docusate twice a day (Dulcoease) and at least 2 (maybe 3) litres of water (in addition to usual tea and coffee). If I ease up on the water things start slowing down again. I've no idea why my gut has suddenly started behaving like this; I blame everything on peri menopausal hormones these days. GP ran tests for any sinister causes all of which are ok thankfully. Good luck 💩

@Edenmum2 that made me 🤣 actually you got me thinking. I could try and do some yoga tonight to help relax me.

@GivingitToGod think it might be dehydration. I maybe drink about 1/1.5L a day. I struggle to drink that much sometimes.

@rightoguvnor I do usually have a coffee when I get up. I don't eat breakfast. Will make my coffee extra strong in the morning 🤞

@LakeFlyPie I never thought to link it to peri. Glad you are feeling better now and all was fine with gp tests. Peri literally brings so many things with it.

@Iwantmybed aww, so sorry that happened to you 😢 thanks for that tip will definitely keep it in mind.

In addition to the pics I posted yesterday about lifting your legs up on the toilet.
Yes, suppositories and micro enemas, possibly even large ones are available OTC at pharmacies.
Sorry if TMI, but when sitting on the loo, another thing you could try is a gloved finger with some lube on it, just inside your rectum. Sometimes the end part of the stool is so dry and stuck, it just needs a little help to get the 1st bit out. The lube can also help prevent cracking of the skin around the anus if you are straining. Best of luck OP.
