Premier inn that fits these requirements

Morph22010 · 08/08/2024 04:58

Ok I’m looking for a premier inn 18th to 20th August but can be abit flexible with dates as it’s just a sightseeing trip

i have an autistic child and a mother who struggles with walking coming with me. Have a blue badge for child. Premier inn rather than other hotels as we’ve stayed in them before and they tend to be quite similar so ds ok with that. I want either somewhere that has parking but within a close walking distance to a tube station/ train station or we could possibly come by train into Euston but then would need someone near as it’s too much dragged child, mum and luggage across London on transport. Coming from the north. We’ve stayed at London Wembley a few times and parked there and it was ideal but it is Taylor swift those days so a no go. I’ve stayed in Uxbridge before also with just child but the walk to station is prob just abit long for mum if we are adding in walking round London in day too although we could probably get an uber so that’s a definite possibility, any other ideas from knowledgeable people? Ideally somewhere where parking is not so limited that there’s a chance we won’t get any, as ds panics if we can’t get parking and have to drive around and it adds to the stress

This might be a bit far out.... but have a look at the Heathrow premier inns, you can often get an amazing bargain and it's very easy access from the M25. For example the terminal 4 one is a 20 min walk to Hatton Cross tube or quick 5 min bus ride. But it is then about an hour into central London. You have the added excitement of watching planes!

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 08/08/2024 07:22

How far is close to walk? To me the obvious choice is the big premier inn on Euston Road - it’s a few minutes walk from Euston.

FinalInstructionstotheAudience · 08/08/2024 07:23

There is a Premier Inn opposite Euston Station. It doesn't have parking, but has paid parking nearby.

Stratford? It has parking and then a relatively short walk to the train station / tube / DLR we go through the shopping centre to get there but you can go around the outside.

Alternatively Richmond also has parking and a bus stop directly outside that will take you to outside the tube if you didn't want to do the 5-10 minute walk. Bonuses thebus goes straight to Hampton Court and Kew gardens is 3 mins away if you fancied some quieter days.

DeclutteringNewbie · 08/08/2024 07:25

Farringdon? Fairly easy from Euston. I’ve stayed there 20-30 times.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 08/08/2024 07:28

Euston Road or St Pancras which are both easy walking distance from Euston. We get in to Kings Cross and have stayed there for same reasons - no schlepping across London with gear but really easy to get everywhere once you've dropped your bags off. Plus the new development around Coal Drops Yard is great for food and drinks without having to go into West End.

Westfacing · 08/08/2024 07:29

Yes to the Premier Inn opposite Euston.

As it's a sightseeing visit, presumably you mean the usual central London ones - so don't stay in outer places such as Wembley, Stratford or Heathrow!

rwalker · 08/08/2024 07:44

I’d look at travel lodge as well
there all seem to be built from the same template
most of them you can’t tell the difference between travel lodge and premier inn so your son should be ok

Nameynamechange123 · 08/08/2024 07:49

We stayed at Premier inn docklands by the Excel centre recently- had a carpark with a resonable amount of spaces and right by the DLR/Elizabeth line. I’d check if there are any conventions on though as that might mess up the parking situ a bit if its busy.

KeyWorker · 08/08/2024 07:50

We drove to London from the north west and stayed at Hanger Lane. It’s dead easy to find, on site parking and a tube station right outside. I think the parking was £12 per night but the hotel was cheaper than others we’d looked at so it balanced out. About 25 minutes on the tube to central London.

Singleandproud · 08/08/2024 07:53

@rwalker there's a huge difference between PI and a Travelodge which is why they are so much cheaper.

The quality of breakfast for one and food at PI are generally far better. But for an autistic child the difference will be greater the decoration in PI is always purple whether you are in a new room or not, the Travelodge is blue/ yellow (I think), the food in restaurants is almost always the sae depending on which restaurant is attached, decor of the restaurant is the same, format at breakfast is the same etc and the room layouts are different plus you don't get hair dryers in TL.

OP it's worth having a look and locating Quiet Rooms at attractions in advance, we recently went and used them at Tate Modern when DD got overwhelmed and the IWM also had them but we didn't need them. I'm sure the main museums will have them too.

If you are in need of a break there is a fantastic park at Kensington Gardens, The Princess Diana one. It tends to get busy so we go at lunchtime, eat in the queue and by the time we are finished tend to be ready to walk through the gates

I'd also get the Elizabeth line where you can, corridors seem wider, overall quieter and much cooler, trains seemed emptier.
If you are grabbing a tube walk to the end of the platform where the carriages tend to be much quieter and DC won't get jostled as much

deplorabelle · 08/08/2024 08:00

Premier inn Harrow is a bit scruffy but perfectly fine rooms, very cheap and next to Kenton tube or a short walk to Northwick Park

HerbertVonDoodlebug · 08/08/2024 08:03

Premier Inn Southgate would fit the bill - v close to the tube (Piccadilly Line), has a car park, is clean and quiet.

Morph22010 · 08/08/2024 08:06

thanks for the comments so far just off to work so will have a proper look later. I was looking at the Heathrow ones but it was difficult to work out quickly which ones were within walking distance of transport but I can prob work that out if I take more time. Is it very noisy in the night at the Heathrow ones?
euston road one I didn’t see when I searched Euston station for place but again I’ll try and have a proper look later on.

She’s had a knee replacemnt so quite slow and can’t stand for too long. Realistically no more the a usual persons 5 to 10 min walk as it will take us double, plus we have the same walking in day to also consider

I've also found ringing the PI and requesting adjoining rooms a life saver when travelling with DD and my mum.

Mum and I will chill in her room giving DD time and space to recharge in our room.

I have found having a central London PI useful as it allows you to go back during the day which DD finds useful, an hour's break for tea and a toilet break in 'our' bathroom sets her up better for the afternoon. Sleeping bags through London is a pain but might be worth looking at a taxi from the station to the hotel. We do find central London ones slightly smaller though. We recently stayed at Farringdon and DD found the windows smaller and lacked daylight, some rooms the windows were internal over looking the lift areas

Inmyownlittlecorner · 08/08/2024 08:56

Premier inn Archway or Angel? I live between them & have had family stay in both. Angel has chargeable parking. Not sure about Archway

twilightcafe · 08/08/2024 09:04

PI Aldgate is 5 minutes from two tube stations within easy reach of Euston Square or taxi/Uber. No car park. But it's relatively quiet as it's tucked down a side street.

MsBubbles85 · 08/08/2024 09:37

Check the Hampstead Premier Inn, it is in Belsize Park and has a parking on site.

yellowmugs · 08/08/2024 10:03

Windows tend to be soundproof at Heathrow and generally there are no flights approx. midnight to 5 am.

I think I've stayed at all the Heathrow ones and T4 is the nearest to a tube station - Hatton Cross - a few minutes on the bus or 20 minute walk.

Seconding this - we've stayed there and chose to walk the 5mins to Northwick Park for the faster Metropolitan line, but it's literally next door to Kenton station for Bakerloo and Overground. Own car park with lots of parking. When. We stayed there it was much quieter than the central hotels often are, as it's not in a touristy neighbourhood, although obviously no guarantees!

I've stayed in this one many times. It's nice.

Second Premier Inn Euston Road and Premier Inn St. Pancras; all a stone’s throw from one another and Euston Station. The Premier Inn Euston Road has family rooms too which comfortably sleeps 4 people. Very close to The British Library, Wellcome Collection and British Museum.
