If you could live anywhere outside the UK where would you go?

I have lived abroad before but have been in the UK so I know there is good and bad in lots of places. DH has often said he would like to move to the forest to a cabin in Finland and have lots of dogs. I always thought it was a barmy idea.
He has a good job and technically we could live anywhere.
Where would you go if you could?

I am thinking Costa Rica.

I could probably afford a nicer life in Astana but it's sooooooo cold in winter, I don't know if I could cope 😬 Almaty also seems better for walking and cultural stuff, although I've never visited either city.

As for why Moscow, mostly practicality, partly naive romanticism. I want to live in Europe again, I can't do my job (English teacher) in an English- or German-speaking country, and Russian is the only other European language I know. Also I tend to get along well with Russians, insofar as you can generalise these things 🤷‍♀️ I'd be open to St Petersburg as an option as well.

(Let's not start the whole 'is Russia in Europe' debate - it's more in Europe than south-east Asia is, which is what counts!)

We moved to Italy a few years ago and love, love, love it! We lived in Qatar before that. Very different!

Somewhere warm in Europe. I love Italy, Spain, maybe Portugal. Need to make it happen, the UK feels like it’s going to Hell in a handcart these days.

Copenhagen is up there. V relaxed and everything works

We have a villa in The Canaries.
We do spend a lot of time there.
But couldn't live there full time.

Possibly New Zealand.

maybe the Netherlands.

No houses left.

And the politics is shit with the far right PVV in government.

Not too far - Channel Islands. Probably Guernsey.
