Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm in my kitchen spot, with my first cuppa, as always. The kittens are having a crazy half hour after breakfast, & no-one else is up yet.

We don't have much planned for the day today. I want to get out in the front garden & finish cutting back the brambles - they take over everything & do my head in (I didn't plant them!). & I'll empty the wash basket as I'm away for a couple of days but the girls will be here filling it up. I'll show them how to work the new washer before going but don't think they'll need ir.

Dd2 text me at some point in the night saying she was struggling to sleep & leave her in bed please, so I will. And dd1 worked yesterday so probably won't surface for a while either 🤷‍♀️

Not sure what's for tea yet 🤔 but afterwards it'll be showers all round & chill before bed. I have a couple of pairs of trousers to hem, so I'll do them.

@lucysmam sugared pork is my own recipe. It is shoulder of pork, marinaded and cooked for a looooong time in a mixture of (a lot of) brown sugar, garlic and Worcestershire sauce (sometimes I add some honey and/or tomato puree). Once it is literally falling apart I pull it into shreds. Some of the marinade is mixed in to moisten it slightly, the rest can be served with it. Because I'm a bit decrepit it is easiest for me to cook it in advance and then to heat it through in the microwave the next day. It is very popular in my family and son-in-law requested it for his birthday lunch today. I suppose it could be spiced up with some chilli, 5 spice, star anise or whatever, but we like it just how it is. Very sweet and tangy from the Worcestershire sauce.

Woke up at 7am and a YouTuber I follow had already done a live blog walking her dog at 5.30am! It galvanised me to get up and get my dogs out early before the sun broke through the clouds and make it too hot. I also cut the grass and sorted some recycling. brunch and some reading and chatted with DD... dinner will be pasta as she went for a once in a decade run and feels the need to refuel (only a 19 year old could not exercise for two years then suddenly go out for a two mile run).
Now just going to chill until time to cook dinner (though i think the garden needs watering...). After dinner we are watching Nurse Jackie which we are enjoying.

My red brow disappeared in time for lunch, all except the bit in the middle, which makes me look rather angry!
The bramble is still brambling...

@lucysmam dd spends a lot of time in the leadmill and various other bars/clubs 😆

She looked at Manchester and loved it but it's a 15 minute tram ride away from us so similar to your dd she wanted to move a bit further away.

Costco took longer than planned, was raining by the time we got home so the brambles remain. Some of the stones have been moved, I’m off work for a few weeks so will try and get the garden in some kind of order a little each day.
