….transfer £9.99 or £10?

I would transfer £10 in the same way that I would give a tenner in cash.

I would always transfer the exact amount. Years of working with accounts Grin.

I would just transfer what I owed ie 9.99. The only reason you don't do that with cash is to avoid the need for change/faffing around with multiple coins.

If it was a bank transfer I’d pay the exact amount and I’d expect that too. It makes it easier to spot.

This 👆. That penny left when it doesn't balance 😡. Then having to write it off to suspense and it sits there until year end.

Exact money for me. It's easier to recognise payments going in and out of my account if it is the exact amount.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 26/07/2024 17:21

£10 but I round up everywhere. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 26/07/2024 17:25

I'd probably round up without thought. But now that I think about it it's easier to detect the amount if its exact. However if the business is stupid enough to have a price of 9.99 instead of 10 in the first place then i don't care if they have to investigate the payment.

Blisterly · 26/07/2024 18:00

I would give the exact amount, but then I haven’t used cash for years. I would do this with everyone apart from my mum, she works in cash, distrusts internet banking so she’s not used to the conventions. Think she’d feel put out if I gave her £9.99.

£9.99. Obviously I don't care about the penny! But I'm thinking it might make it easier for them to identify the payment.
