Ninja Air Fryer Yay or Nay?

Pinkpurpleblue1 · 20/07/2024 21:34

I’m thinking of getting a Ninja air fryer. Are they any good? I read a few articles about them potentially having a cancer risk but there seems to be little to no evidence to support this? I just want it for chicken , fish , veggies etc, are they good? Do you prefer them over oven cooked meat?

Definite yay.

IrritatedB3dM4ker · 20/07/2024 21:49

Yay

USaYwHatNow · 20/07/2024 21:51

Very much yay. We've used our oven maybe once a week since having ours.

Absolutely Yay!!

Readytoevolve · 20/07/2024 21:54

Yay, it makes life so much easier.

randomusernam · 20/07/2024 21:54

Yay! I have 2 different ones and would never go back. I don't use my oven anymore.

Bankholidayhelp · 20/07/2024 22:04

Yes. I bought the two drawers side by side model if I could justify the cost I'd buy the Flexi drawer one, just for more
... Flexibility ...

Very rarely use the oven now.

Gunz · 20/07/2024 22:54

Like others - I very rarely use the Oven. Very flexible.

Onehappymam · 20/07/2024 22:59

Yay! Total convert here. Wouldn’t be without it. I prefer the foodie as it’s like my instant pot & air fryer combined.

At this stage in the game it’s a bit like asking ‘I’m thinking about getting a kettle - is it worth it?’.

You won’t regret it and now there’s a wealth of quick and easy recipes on social media.

Nosummerontheagenda · 20/07/2024 23:00

What’s this about a cancer risk? I hadn’t heard about that. I’ve been thinking of getting one but haven’t taken the leap yet.

Milkandtwosugarsplease · 20/07/2024 23:03

Definitely Yay. It’s been a game changer in my house. I’ve saved hours.

Backfromhols · 20/07/2024 23:05

Yes 🙌🏻 have 4 air fryers in different forms, 3 of them are Ninjas and do more than just air fry. Use at least one every day.

JenniferSaundersIsMyMum · 20/07/2024 23:06

Also a yay. Hardly use the oven now and so many things are better in the air fryer. And cheaper and quicker. Yay yay yay.

justanothermanicmonday1 · 20/07/2024 23:11

Yay. Get the dual as well. You won't regret it!

whattodo87 · 20/07/2024 23:16

Every time (daily usually) I use my Ninja - I say to myself ... I bloody love this air fryer ☺️
I have the mega zone one and it's brilliant.

Aproductofmyera80s · 20/07/2024 23:19

We’ve got 2.. and I have a wood fire grill which also has an air fryer function on , use the oven once a week if that. We brought the first one well before everyone started jumping on the air fryer bandwagon. But admittedly only used it for chip or nuggets… now we use it for everything. DP even makes toasties in it…

CointreauVersial · 20/07/2024 23:20

Yay to Air Fryers, but Nay to expensive Ninjas.

Ours was from Costco, cost less than £50, but a definite game changer in the kitchen.

How could it be a cancer risk?! It's basically just a small, cost-effective oven.

homemadepopcorn · 20/07/2024 23:21

Mine is so useful for a range of dishes so personally, id recommend. Especially for reheating foods and bacon. There are some links of the non-stick coating (PFAS containing) inside of air fryers and other cooking equipment to cancer however this risk can be reduced by not using metal utensils during use, and by not putting the drawers in the dishwasher. Overall the research shows that this would probably be negligible in terms of cancer risk, other lifestyle choices such as drinking or smoking would likely pose a greater risk

happinessischocolate · 20/07/2024 23:24

I bought the Lakeland one, it's great but wish I'd got the Ninja instead.

Lakeland is good and too expensive to now discard, but my friend had the ninja and it's definitely much better.

Daisymae55 · 20/07/2024 23:26

We had zero interest in getting an air fryer and saw them as pointless until we moved into a military house with no functioning oven. Bought a ninja and even now they finally replaced the oven after months of waiting we rarely touch it! Faster, cheaper, and I feel it cooks things more evenly and better than our previous ovens have

Maddy70 · 20/07/2024 23:27

Its the best

Ihateslugs · 20/07/2024 23:35

I’ve had the Ninja Max for a couple of years now, use it several times a week and it is still immaculate inside, not chipped or scratched and very clean. I can put the bowl in the dishwasher or soak it in hot water and washing up liquid while I eat and all it needs is a quick rinse. My friend bought a cheaper make and within a few months the insides were chipped and there were scorch marks around the outside of the drawer.

Ive got my eye on the new Ninja dual with two drawers, one on top of the other so takes up less worktop than a side by side dual. My daughter works for Ninja and can get me a great discount so she’s watching the prices carefully!

Bankholidayhelp · 20/07/2024 23:45

I think the size of the dual drawer side by side ninjas is an issue as they are fairly massive. In our tiny kitchen it has to be useful!

Presumably because of the coating of the air fryer drawer that food comes into direct contact with? I love my Ninja air fryer but do have concerns about this, although haven’t done any research so this concern may be unjustified.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/07/2024 23:49

Yay. Ninja Foodie 15 in 1. This is so easy to make a hot meal. It's used every day.
