What would you do with it?

OP posts:
Emily1583 · 07/07/2024 22:38

Go on a holiday.

TimeForMyMonthlyNameChange · 07/07/2024 22:39

I would clear my Amazon wish list. An ice maker, a new microwave (nothing wrong with mine but I want one with buttons to set the time not a dial because I never get it right), a shit ton of books and some crafting bits.

Assuming the ‘rules’ of no bills etc.

BobbyBiscuits · 07/07/2024 22:40

Go out for a nice meal with my closest 3 family. I'd order lobster and fries and salad with garlic butter, and a cocktail! Taxis there and back and a couple of bottles of prosecco for home. Maybe a bottle of nice whisky or brandy and some posh cheese for after as well at home.

Anything left over I'd probably buy some beauty stuff as I've got a bit into that again after 20 years of avoiding it.

So, when can I expect the payment? 😁

FortunataTagnips · 07/07/2024 22:41

A new big garden shed. Ours is currently floorless and roofless.

46mumof6 · 07/07/2024 22:42

Buy food, start a new job tomorrow haven't worked for 2 months due to my health. Have £2.77 in the bank until the 22nd and only freezer food for 5 people!!

MooonDreamer · 07/07/2024 22:43

I got a bonus of around £1500 this month and couldn't think of anything to spend it on so mostly used it to pay off a loan!

I still don’t give a shit.

Do you mean "gifted a shit"?

timetorefresh · 07/07/2024 22:44

Add it to my kids instrument fund. They currently have a rented one and they are so expensive!

HoHoHoliday · 07/07/2024 22:50

I'm saving up to see a private menopause specialist so I'd do that, then get a deep clean of my home, and then do a food shop but buy all of the nice stuff instead of the cheap stuff.
(Shocked myself with how boring I sound!)

Sillyness1066 · 07/07/2024 22:54

Pay some of my debts

Marmose · 07/07/2024 22:58

Honestly: nothing. I’d just put it in the bank.

Pay you to stop using gifted as a verb.

Love it!

CommaChameleon7 · 07/07/2024 23:00

I'd get my broken teeth fixed at the dentist - that'd be £485 spent! Then I'd take my car to the garage to find out what that rattling noise is 🤔

Otherwise I'd take my daughter away for a holiday 😊

GoingRoundInTriangularCircles · 07/07/2024 23:01

Plaster the lounge/ diner

DuckyShincracker · 07/07/2024 21:47

Give it to my bff who's worrying about money and returning to work after her secondary cancer treatment.

You sound lovely 🥰

onwardandupwards · 07/07/2024 23:04

Use it towards getting a stud wall put in and a bed so I can have a small space of my own and stop sleeping on a camping bed and not have to get my clothes out of a suitcase daily.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 07/07/2024 23:04

Honestly: nothing. I’d just put it in the bank.

Same. Bit boring...

ColinMyWifeBridgerton · 07/07/2024 23:27

Straight to savings. And perhaps, £150 for a jumper from toast...

larkstar · 08/07/2024 11:34

Well £1k isn't going to change anyone's life but if it was used as an unexpected gift that's a beautiful thing for both parties - I'd like to use it up paying for other people's shopping at Christmas.

stayathomer · 16/08/2024 23:28

I’d make a start on getting my teeth fixed and get a plumber in for our dodgy toilet!!

SprinkleOfSunak · 16/08/2024 23:48
