I started feeling poorly Friday evening. Feel horrendous at the moment. What are people’s experiences of this latest strain - how many days of feeling shit should I anticipate?

This is my 11th day now first 5 days were okay tad unwell but not really bad after that fine. Day 10 raging temp and I’ve developed a chest infection I feel so unwell I haven’t been able to get out of bed since yesterday! Don’t know if it’s still to do with covid or another infection? Has anyone else felt better with it then came crashing down even worse. ?

I'm on day 10 of it. The first 3 days I felt pretty unwell but have been a lot better since. Today now though I feel absolutely drained again with a bad throat and chest and my whole body just feels heavy

How is everyone? I started symptoms 28th June. Maybe around the 10/11/12 my blinding headaches laid off. I went out on Saturday for 4/5hrs to pub and food with my husband. Since I'm feeling like I'm losing my voice again and I feel really quite shit. Almost like lots coming back. Dunno if I'm losing the plot. I looked up and read about rebound covid. Where you can start to redevelop symptoms and even test positive again.

Here's a source but I only usually ever look at NHS online, I'm not a doc Google.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? It says it can reappear. I have crappy health, chronic pain and a lot of existing conditions. Likely long covid is one

The same thing happened to me, felt better after it for a few days then came back 10x worse !

Bewareofthisonetoo · 17/07/2024 06:57

Mine (last month) was just over 2weeks

Moonshiners · 17/07/2024 07:01

I'm on day 10
2 days sniffles
4 days absolutely floored, struggling to sit up in bed, get to the loo etc
4 days feeling knackered, stuffed up, sinus pain.

My sister is the on day 14 and about 90%.

We both last had vaccinations in about Oct 22.
Our parents, aunts and uncle all have had it and recovered in about 5 days but all recently vaccinated. All in their 80s.

AuntieMarys · 17/07/2024 07:06

I started Friday....have woken up feeling relatively human. Game changer was a steroid nasal spray which I got from the chemist yesterday...has cleared my sinuses.
I have catarrh and sore throat still but 100% better than I was. I'm doing a yoga class later online.

CLEO42 · 17/07/2024 07:17

DH and I both have it. He’s a couple of days ahead of me and currently out walking the dog whilst I am flat out in the bed.

I started feeling tired on Thursday (skipped dinner, went to bed at 7), went to work on Friday and just ate all day I was so hungry! On Sat DH and I assumed we had bad colds but then he started running a fever so he did a test which was positive straight away. My test was negative.

I tested positive on Sunday, still just felt like a cold for me and I was able to do a whole day wfh on Monday. It’s hit me hard yesterday with aches, cough, congestion, nausea, weaknesses, dizziness and the headache oh my god. The headache has kept me awake for hours in the last 2 nights. I’m shattered. I’m now officially off work sick.

I’m hoping that if I follow the same path as DH then I’ll start to feel better tomorrow. He’s had the most recent vaccination though as he was eligible due to recent cardiac investigations.

Inspirationpending · 17/07/2024 07:37

Interesting about the most recent vaccinations as I had last one in Oct 23 and in spite of feeling horrendous for 3 days, I feel almost normal day 6 after testing positive.
This was by far the worst bout id had though
Hope everyone gets well soon

wavingfuriously · 22/07/2024 13:04
